Article Marketing 101 The Whole Thing in a Nutshell

Article Marketing is one of the best ways to bring much needed traffic to a website and we all know that more traffic equals more profit. Perhaps the biggest benefit of article marketing is that the traffic that it generates is highly targeted and highly qualified.

While this type of marketing is hands down one of the top marketing methods I have found that many people I talk to are either unfamiliar with article marketing or are intimidated by it. Read on and I will give you the entire basic strategy in a Nutshell.

Those truly new to article marketing may be wondering why anyone would want their article in the first place. The answer to this is content, content, content. Websites and other publications are constantly on a search for fresh, new content. The only way to keep readers returning is to consistently rotate the content. Article banks and directories fill this need. Webmasters and publishers use the articles as new content.

Article Marketing 101

1.) The first thing that you need to do is begin writing articles related to your business or niche. The article itself is not a sales pitch and should not be written as so. In many cases the article directories my reject an article that is. What you need to do is write 300 450 words which are informative and about your niche.

2.) Decide which of the article banks and directories that you wish to use when submitting your articles. Personally I only use a few and all of them require registration. In my opinion using only registration required directories shows more professionalism. Be sure that you read and abide by the editorial guidelines of the directories. Doing so will save you headaches later.

Take the time to make sure that you are placing your articles in the proper categories. You want targeted traffic to your website. Placing your articles in the correct categories will ensure that any traffic that filters back to your website is highly targeted to the niche that you are working.

3.) The final part of the article is the resource box. It is in this section that you want to lead readers back to your website. Always include your name, a real link (www.yoursite.com) back to your website, and 3- 4 sentences about yourself and/or your product. Give the reader a reason to want to visit your website

In conclusion please keep in mind that not every article you submit will be published, especially if you do not follow the editorial guidelines. Keep writing and submitting new articles daily. The more articles you get out on the article directories the better. Also keep in mind that article marketing is not an overnight thing. It takes time as do all businesses worth pursuing.

Article Marketing - Five Tips in Picking a Capable Ghost Writer

Many people who are interested in article writing success do not consider themselves particularly capable as writers themselves. If you are such a person, you may be interested in finding a ghost writer who can assist you in the creation of copy to further your own article marketing efforts. There are five tips that you should keep in mind when looking for a capable ghost writer to assist you in achieving your goals.

1. Experience matters. Always look for a ghost writer that has experience in the field.

2. Get recommendations. You should get references and recommendations from a ghost writer before you settle on selecting that person to assist you. A capable ghost writer will be more than happy to provide you with references.

3. Check out the portfolio. Just as a capable ghost writer will be willing to provide you with references, a solid and professional ghost writer will be more very willing to provide you with samples of his or her prior work. You absolutely must see what the writer has done in the past before you select that individual to assist you with article marketing.

4. Deadlines. You need to make certain that any ghost writer you select actually has the time to devote to your project. The fact is that quality ghost writers are few and far between and these individuals can be overbooked.

5. Communication: You need to make certain that you pick a ghost writer that is comfortable with communicating with you regularly. You will want to select a ghost writer that will keep you up to date on the progress if your project

Best Article Marketing - Discover 5 Interesting Steps to Impact Your Article Marketing

If you are looking for a product promotional and marketing technique that can work overtime and will bring you qualified traffic for many years to come, article marketing is perfect for you. You see, when you submit your articles to publishing sites, your content and your inbound links will stay there for good. Meaning, the articles that you have submitted a couple of years ago can still be accessed by online users and can still draw interested parties to your website.

Here are the 5 interesting steps to impact your article marketing:

1. Offer valuable, useful information. If you want to wow your readers and instantly drive them to your website, you need to offer them information that they will find interesting, appealing, and highly relevant to their lives or areas of interest. These could be solutions to their problems, answers to their burning questions, or simple information that can empower them to do amazing things on their own or help them understand their current situation.

2. Create an interesting author's bio. You would want to build rapport with your readers so they will like you and eventually trust you. One of the best ways to do this is to create an author's bio on leading article submission sites that can give your readers a chance to get to know you more on a personal level. Communicate your hobbies, interests, personal struggles, and inspiring success stories that your readers can easily relate to.

3. Use a killer resource box. To easily entice your readers to check on your website and to increase your conversion rate, spend more time writing your resource box to make it more compelling and attention-grabbing. Use powerful words that can evoke action and offer incentives to boost your clickthrough rate.

4. Do your research. Strive to offer your readers with detailed, in-depth, and complete information about your topic by doing your research and checking relevant, reputable sources online. You may also opt to interview some experts on your chosen niche who can surely give you valuable ideas and different points of view.

5. Be determined. Article marketing, although proven one of the most effective traffic generating tools, cannot promise you success overnight. It may take weeks or even months before you see noticeable increase in your page views. Just don't lose your focus and consistently write and submit your articles online. You'll surely reap great benefits once your articles have started generating interest online.

Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me." Remember that saying from when you were a kid? Who were they kidding? Words are powerful tools and have a very profound effect on us. Words of praise make us happy; words of love fill us with warm emotions; words of criticism can make us sad or defensive, and angry words can hurt us deeply.

When you are creating articles, newsletters, press releases, etc., it is critical to choose your words carefully. You want your articles to be interesting as well as informative. If you are selling a product or service that you love, you want that passion to be evident in your writing. You want your readers to feel your enthusiasm and get excited over the product or service that you are offering. If you are trying to promote something that does not thrill or make you happy, you should probably think about your options. Life is too short not to love what you do.

Where do you find those "expressive" words?

1. A Thesaurus is a good place to start. The really great thing about this resource is that it is only a mouse click away. If the word you have chosen does not quite give you the punch you are looking for, check the Thesaurus for alternatives.

2. Look in the Dictionary to make sure you really understand what the word you are using means.

I had to write a marketing letter in a business communications class that I took several years ago and decided my product would be chocolate chip cookies (now you know what I am passionate about!). I thought I had written a great article. My mouth watered just reading about those cookies; just one little problem...I described the cookie as decadent. My professor noted, "You should make sure you know what a word means before you use it." Apparently he had never listened to chocolate commercials or used a Thesaurus. He went straight to Webster's New World Dictionary where decadent is described as, "a 19th century writer or artist living in a period of decline," not even one mention of self-indulgence! I still was able to argue my case thanks to the Thesaurus; however, maybe I should have looked the word up in the dictionary as well. I might have come up with a better description and avoided confusing the poor man.

Keep it simple.

1. Even though you want your words to be powerful, make sure they are not the latest "increase your vocabulary - word of the day." You want your readers to relate to what you are saying, not have to get a dictionary out to interpret every other word you wrote.

Words are wonderful, especially written words. So go ahead and express yourself; after all, there ARE enough words to describe!

Profitable Article Marketing - Discover 3 Intermediate Secrets to Multiply Your Article Marketing

In a nutshell, article marketing is the most effective marketing tool in the internet today. Most webmasters are using it not just because its free but more importantly, because it delivers great results. From increased page views to improved page ranking, to increased sales potential to improved revenue and more.

Here are the 3 intermediate secrets to multiply your article marketing:

1. Build up your products. Although most publishers will not allow you to pitch in your products in your articles, you can still create a need for them in a subtle way. How? If you are selling educational plans, you can write about "Education - the best gift you can give to your children", "How to secure a bright future for your children", "Educational plans - what they can do for you and your loved ones", etc. These topics will give more value to your offerings and make your readers realize that your product is a must-have.

2. Write for your readers. One of your goals in writing and distributing your articles online is to convince your readers to trust you and consider doing business with you. That can only happen if you are able to offer them information that they will find useful and valuable to their lives. Strive to provide answer to the questions that bother your readers, offer sound solutions to their pressing issues, and provide information that will help them better understand their current situation. When you do, they will treat you as someone who is genuinely interested in helping them and not just a random marketer who is just after their money.

3. Write for search engines. You would want your readers to easily find you content online, correct? Thus, you must know how to properly optimize your articles by using relevant keywords all through out your content.

Article Marketing - Discover 3 High Impact Ways to Improve Your Article Marketing

With so many entrepreneurs going online, making a mark in the internet arena becomes more and more challenging. As a marketer, you need to find effective ways so people will notice you and consider purchasing from you.

One of the best ways to advertise your business these days is through writing and submitting your articles online. You can write about your chosen niche, the problems that are affecting your target market, your products, and your business to communicate your specialized knowledge. When people see you as someone who is a great source of information, they will surely click on your resource box and they will instantly become your potential clients.

Here are the 3 high impact ways to improve your article marketing:

1. Consider your readers. Keep your potential clients when writing your articles. What do they want to see on your content? What are the problems they are currently experiencing and what solutions can you offer? Are there questions that they need to be answered to better understand their current situation? How do they want the information to be presented? The more you know about your readers, the more effective you will become in writing content that is targeted to their needs and demands.

2. Be productive. One of the best ways to succeed in article marketing is to multiply the number of your articles. Why? Because the more articles you write and submit, the more quality inbound links you can obtain for your website. That would literally mean more traffic and improved sales potential for you.

3. Make your articles easy to understand. If you are presenting new concepts that can be quite difficult to understand, use metaphors, examples, analogies, or images so your readers can easily visualize your ideas.

Online Article Word Count - The Reader's Perception of Author's Authority on Topic

Articles which are very short often have very little substance. Now this is not universally true or an absolute by any means, but generally it is. If your online articles have very few words the chances of the reader perceiving you as an authority on the subject might be very low.

The reason you should you care or even consider this topic is because as an online article author you want your reader to see the wisdom or brilliance of your article so they know that you know what you are talking about. If the reader sees this while reading your article then the chances are much better that they will seek you out for more information or visit your website.

Informational selling requires that the information you give to the reader or prospective customer is relevant and reality based. In my humble opinion, I believe that not only should the reader perceive that you are the authority on the topic, but also that you should be an authority and expert on the topic you are writing on. Otherwise one might say you are using trickery to attract Internet Surfers.

So the question has been pondered at the top online article submission site: "How many words does it take in a given article to be perceived as an authority on a micro-topic?"

As the leading authority on online article writing, having written some 11,000 articles, it is my contention that your articles should deliver information to the public or your potential prospects that they cannot easily find elsewhere and that the articles you write give at least one new thought or piece of valuable and readily usable fact. So, the real question is how many words does it take to accomplish that?

Targeted Article Marketing - Discover 3 Interesting Secrets to Make Money with Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the greatest and most effective ways in creating avalanches of leads. It is being used by millions of people in promoting affiliate products to generate commission, making money through AdSense, and generating qualified traffic to their website.

Here are the 3 interesting secrets to make money with article marketing:

1. Kick-start your articles with compelling titles. Experts agree that as an article marketer, you should understand that your titles are your most effective tools in getting people to notice your content. Thus, pay close attention to them and make sure that they are interesting and attention-grabbing.

2. Make your first paragraph equally interesting. Online users are known to have short attention span. If you can't offer them something that they will find valuable in the first 100 words of your articles, they will quickly click that big X button on the upper right hand of their screen and move to the next article. You don't want this to happen to you as you would like them to read your articles in their entirety to increase the chances of your resource box being clicked. So, offer your readers the juiciest details on your first paragraph. If possible, spill in everything they need to know in the first 100 words of your articles. This will keep them interested and hopefully, this will compel them to click on your resource box.

3. Keep your articles short. As mentioned a while ago, people online have short attention span and they would like to get the information they need upfront. If you can offer them article than runs 300 words that contain all the information they need, the better. Based on researches and studies, short articles are preferred by more than 87% of online users.

Article Marketing - The Quick And Easy Way To Make Money Writing Articles

Article Marketing. I'm sure you've heard the term, but do you really know what it is and why you should use it? In a nutshell, article marketing is making money from short 300-500 word essays or articles. It is popular because it is very effective and it is free. The only cost is the time it takes to research and write an article.

What do I need to write about you ask? Most of the time, the articles are written in the form of a review or guide. To be a money making venture, the article has to promote some product or service that you are involved in. This can be an item or service you sell personally through your website or an item or service you sell for someone else. The "someone else" is called an affiliate. An affiliate is a company that pays you money to sell their goods. The money you make is usually in the form a percentage of total sales you make for the company though sometimes it is a flat rate. There are a lot of good affiliate sites out there and probably the best one to start with is Clickbank. Clickbank.com represents many hundreds of companies and does a good job helping you to promote their products and services.

Because there are a LOT of companies and even more products, it is pretty easy to find a company selling something you are familiar with. You should always start with something you are familiar with as it makes the research and writing process easier and faster. How do the articles actually make me money you ask? All articles end with a link to your website or an affiliate's website. People who read and like the article will click on the link and purchase the product. Finished articles are submitted to an article distribution website like ezinearticles.com, articledashboard.com or goarticles.com. Once published, articles attract readers, some of whom will hopefully become customers. Later, due to the exposure on the websites, your article will start showing up as top results on Google and Yahoo! More people will click your links, buy the product or service, and make you money. To get more customers you can write more articles. Some people write many articles for one product, others write just a few. Your mileage will vary.

Once you've got your first campaign up and running you do the following:

1. Pick yourself a new item to promote

2. Write a few new articles

3. Submit them to a few article sites.

4. Wait for the money to start rolling in.

5. Go to #1

The more articles you write and products you promote, the more money you will make. Do some article research on one or more of the distribution sites. You'll find a ton of articles on article marketing and get a good idea of how a successful article should look.

"Wait!" you say. "This all sounds good but I'm a terrible writer. I can't write articles." Think again. It may seem intimidating, but if you can write a sentence or two, you can write good articles. It's really not that hard and there are some excellent article research and writing tools available to help. There is software that can greatly assist the article creation process. As a matter of fact, the software is so good that I cannot mention it here. Please click HERE to read a comprehensive review of one of those products and watch a movie demonstrating its use.

Proven Testing Strategies for Better Direct Marketing Results

One of the central strengths of direct marketing is your ability to test, calculate the results, and make adjustments to boost profits and lower costs. And no matter how creative your company or ads might be, you must approach the testing process with logic and discipline.

Here are a few tips for getting the full value out of your tests in any medium, including direct mail, print, and broadcast:

  • Make knowledge your #1 goal. Yes, you want to boost response and increase net income now. However, building a body of knowledge about what people want and what they respond to is ultimately more important. Testing is about gaining knowledge. Profits come from the application of that knowledge. But don't just look for "what" works. Try to figure out "why" things work. This allows you to apply your knowledge intelligently.
  • Don't rely too heavily on what others are doing. You must always run your own tests because every company, market, product, and offer is in some way unique. Learn from others, but consider it a starting point, anecdotal information at best. Most people don't test as carefully as they should, so just because you frequently see a particular direct mail piece, ad, or broadcast spot doesn't mean you can count on it being a winner.
  • Establish a solid control first. This allows you to confidently test lists, media, offers, prices, product configurations, and other big issues. Then you move on to control testing to boost results. Usually this means you should stick to the basics at first and try more creative ideas only after you have some solid response data and a record of success.
  • Run statistically valid tests. A change in results and a statistically valid change in results are two different things. If you don't know the mathematics of testing, hire someone who does. When you do get a statistically valid difference (positive or negative), retest to confirm your results.
  • Have a goal for every test. What do you want to learn? Write down the questions you would like answered and run a test for each. Ideally, every test should answer one specific question.
  • Test one element at a time. Testing more than one element will make it impossible for you to know what makes a difference in results. If you're testing price, change only the price in your ad. Don't change anything else. If you constantly test elements to refine a control, you are taking what I call the "Evolutionary Approach," slowly and methodically growing a stronger and stronger control over time.
  • Test an all-new approach. This is good if you don't have the patience to test single elements or you want to try for a big boost in response all at once. The more different your approach, the better. Reworking the same approach may change results but won't give you the breakthrough you're looking for. This is what I call the "Revolutionary Approach," going for the big win all at once.
  • Track results meticulously. Keep detailed reports on the number of pieces mailed, number of responses you get, response source, conversion percentage, income those responses generate, average order, percentage response, income per thousand, cost per order or cost per response, net dollar return, returns, bad debt, and every other fact that you need to calculate specifically how your ad performs. Over time, this will be a gold mine of information.
  • Use your tests to determine strategy. Mathematical results are the best way to end debates on issues such as creative approaches, formats, and offers. (If you're afraid of results that don't match your ideas, then you should look for another line of work.) Never assume. Always test. No one knows better what will work than your own prospects and customers.
  • Keep using your control until you beat it. Never, ever shelve a control just because you're tired of it. If it's making money, keep using it. Your control isn't there to entertain you or win you awards. It's there to generate income. Until you have the figures in black and white that conclusively demonstrate you have a new control, keep that old one going.
  • Keep testing. Testing is a long-term commitment. It's not something you do once and forget. It's not something you do only when you have a little extra in your budget. Testing should be part of your routine, everyday business. You want to follow what I call the Testing Loop: 1. Run a test. 2. Analyze the results. 3. Act based on the results. 4. Repeat.

Article Marketing Don't Mean a Thing If It Don't Get Published

You probably know the benefits of article marketing already.

a. More web traffic
b. Backlinks to your site thereby growing your link popularity
c. A built in marketing viral campaign
d. Establishing yourself as a expert.

And countless others. Even with all the new tools like video and bookmark social, article marketing remains one of the best and most cost effective ways to reach people online and profit your internet business. But it don't mean a thing if you don't get published.

True different article directories have different criteria and some for whatever reason are pickier than others. The point is there are things within your control that can increase the chances of your articles being accepted and published on a regular basis.

1. Check it and then check it again.

All of us would love to turn out the perfect article the first time every time but writing is rewriting. Not just throwing out what you don't need but also proofreading for any spelling and grammatical errors. Even if you happen to get published, the refusal to check your own work makes you look unprofessional in the eyes of your readers. That is very detrimental since one of the perks of article marketing is to be recognized as an expert. Read the article out loud or let someone else read it. Using any type of word processor can help considerably.

2. They don't want a sales page

Article marketing is an incredible form of free advertisement. The mistake comes when some writers confuse providing useful quality content with a sales page. If you want a guaranteed rejection email from an article publisher then write a sales letter masquerading as an article. Leave the advertising to your resource box. If you have given the reader quality information than it stands the reason they will want to find out more by clicking the link in your byline. Most publishers allow a 4 to 5 line resource box. It may not seem like much but a well crafted byline can be a very powerful advertising tool. Keep it brief while still urging your readers to take action.

3. So what are you saying?

If you are writing on a topic and you have five major points you want to make then write five different articles. When writing for an online article directory each article should have one theme presented in a clear, simple and direct manner. Even if your article is free of spelling and grammatical errors or blatant advertising, publishers can reject it on the grounds that they don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Don't kid yourself. Many of the best directories have very strict standards that are enforced by people who actually read the articles. Try also to avoid making references that only a select few would appreciate but have the rest of us including the publishers scratching our heads. Remember you want as many people as possible to read (and understand) your article so: keep it simple, make it clear, and talk direct.

The goal is to build your own article marketing system that can turn out good content on a regular basis. Article publishers know exactly what they are looking for so stay focused on the 3 things we discussed. Keep publishers as well as your target audience happy and you are well on your way to more web site traffic and extra profits in your account.

Article Marketing - Why My Articles Disappear From Google First Page After A Couple Of Weeks?

If you are wondering why your articles disappear a couple of weeks after they hit the first page of Google, you want to read this article.

Many people wonder were is this 'magic' lifetime traffic everyone is talking about, but the problem is that they start with highly competitive niches like Internet marketing or make money online.

Should you submit articles with the same keywords again and again or you need to alternate the keywords for different articles?

Or do you need to ignore those keyphrases since you know that your articles won't last long in the different search engines?

First, your rankings have a lot to see with the keyword you choose for your articles.

Secondly, it depends on your niche as well. For example, when you start with one of the most competitive niches, you have thousands and thousands of competitors submitting articles with the exact same keywords.

I am not saying that you can't make money in a competitive niche. You can, but other niches are not so crowded and your articles will be found more often in the search engines.

I would advise to vary the keywords you are targeting. Plus you don't need to always write with your keywords in mind. The more articles you get out there, the more income.

As for articles disappearing for the search results after a couple of weeks, this is normal. Competition is one of the factor that affect your rankings. Plus you also have an initial boost when you are on the first page of the article directory.

But remember, it's a web page and every single web page need a lot of incoming links to rank well.

Keep writing articles with great keywords and long tails as well. Don't give up. Remember that article marketing works very well for smaller niche.

To find more great keywords for your articles, you need to use the wordtracker tool. They have a free trial as well.

Search Engine Optimization Ideas that Work

Ensuring your web site is SEO friendly is paramount to its success. There are many ways to achieve this, some cost little money and some cost a lot. With a few simple techniques you can see your site raise in the search results without spending a fortune.

THINGS TO DO

After selecting your keywords, tags, description, etc. what else can you do to optimize your web site? Try these search engine optimization ideas for effective results.

(1) Do a search for sites similar to yours using some site related keywords. Select a few of the top results in the search. Analyze their keywords and tags by selecting view in the drop down menu of your browser and then click on source. There you will see what theyve done to get such good placement.

(2) Using a keyword tool to see how your products or services are searched for and use those terms to describe what you sell. If done correctly, matching popular search terms with your goods or services will get you great search engine placement.

(3) Check all your links to make sure they work. Dead links are bad news for both search engines and converting traffic into sales. This is an often overlooked search optimization technique.

(4) Submit to directories like DMOZ, Yahoo Business Directory, etc. Some charge a fee but their inclusion is a key factor in getting search engines to list you. Visit strongestlinks.com for a comprehensive list of good directories.

(5) Create a sitemap and submit it to the search engines. This ensures that no pages of your site will be missed when they crawl your site. There are free programs that can create the sitemap for you. This is a free but high effective search optimization technique.

(6) If you write articles, be sure to publish them on your own site. Their keyword rich content increases your chances of being in their search engine results. You will also enjoy a better PR rating.

(7) Educate yourself through trade specific newsletters that discuss proper and effective SEO. They are an invaluable source for new ideas on search engine optimization.

THINGS TO AVOID

(1) Dont use words like of, the, etc. in your keywords. Those are called stop words and not considered search engine friendly.

(2) Avoid using tables within your site whenever possible. While pleasing to the eye, search engines cant always read them and they wont follow the text links or recognize the content.

(3) Make your content keyword rich, but dont go too far. Keyword stuffing can easily be detected and youll loose valuable search engine placement or even be excluded.

(4) Linking campaigns are important. One way links are best but reciprocal links are acceptable as long as they are with similar sites. Try to link to sites with a page rank of 3 or better. Avoid 3 way links, web rings and links to sites that have nothing in common with yours.

Proper search engine optimization techniques are a large part of any web sites success. There are many companies available to do this for you but if you are on a small budget, using these search engine optimization ideas will reap big benefits.

Profitable Article Marketing - Uncover 5 Amazing Methods To Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Do you want to easily earn the trust of your potential clients and position yourself as an expert on your chosen niche? Then, write articles to share a slice of your knowledge and submit them to publishing sites online. By doing so, you can offer valuable information to your readers and make them feel that you are really good on what you do while boosting the number of your quality inbound links all at the same time.

Here are the 5 amazing methods to jumpstart your article marketing:

1. Pick topics that will interest your potential clients. To attract those people who are most likely to take advantage of your offerings, write about topics that will meet their needs and demands. If you are targeting people who are having problem with man boobs, write articles about how to lose man boobs using natural methods, the pros and cons of male breast reduction, etc.

2. Don't be a keyword abuser. In your effort to make your articles search engine-friendly, you might use too many keywords on your content. You have to avoid this from happening at all cost because publishers might reject your articles for keyword stuffing. Before you submit your articles online, manually count the number of your keywords and make sure that they will not exceed the 3% of your article word count.

3. Offer your articles for free. If you want an established webmaster to link with you, you can offer him/her unique, quality content in exchange of keeping your original resource box. This will help you attract his/her website visitors that can definitely boost the number of your page views.

4. Do not advertise on your articles. Other marketers treat their articles as advertising tools and they post their sales pitches on their content. As a marketer, you have to understand that when people open and read an article, they expect to get the information they need. If they don't they will quickly close the article and move to the next one that can offer them what they are looking for. So, focus on giving your readers quality, useful content and save your ads for your resource box.

5. Keep your articles short. Based on researches and studies, articles that run 300-500 words are generating much more attention online compare to those lengthy articles. This is because the audience you are serving have such limited attention span and they prefer to get the information they need ASAP.

Advanced SEO - The Characteristics Of A Perfect Incoming Link

What is a quality incoming link? This article describes the key characteristics of a perfect link. For explanation purposes, the sample company is a shoe retailer called Fred's Sports, and the keyword phrase being optimized for is "blue Nike sneakers".

Key word phrase in anchor text
Unless you put your keyword phrase in the anchor text (the text that describes the web site being linked to), you are wasting a lot of link power. Unfortunately a lot of people don't know this an end up putting their company name in the link text rather than the keyword phrase that they want their company to be found by. Much better that they link anchor says "blue Nike sneakers" than "Fred's Sports Store".

The link is from a relevant page
Google and the Google-powered search partners seek relevance in the interconnectedness of web pages. Incoming links should be from pages where the content on that page is related to the content of the page that is being linked to. A fishing related page linking to a casino site is an example of a non-related link. A jogging related page linking to a blue Nike sneakers product page is related and is looked upon favourably by the search engines.

The link goes to a relevant page
Another mistake that people make is always linking to the home page rather than to the most relevant page to the anchor text. If the link anchor text is "blue Nike sneakers" then the link should go to a page about blue Nike sneakers, not the home page. This is by far and away the most common linking mistake.

The link is from an authority site
Links from high Google PageRank sites are worth more, a lot more, than links from other sites. It's all about trust. A link from a trusted site tells the search engines that the sites linked to are also trusted - it's a vote of confidence from a credible source. Links from .gov, and .edu sites are also reported as having more weight than standard links. They are also more difficult to get adding to their perceived quality.

The link is at top of the page
Links from the top of a page (except for the header), are said to have more weight than links at the bottom of pages. It's the same with keyword phrases. A keyword phrase in the heading is worth more than in the body text.

The link is one-way, not reciprocal
Google's algorithm looks for link exchanges between sites and rates these links lower than straight one-way links. If possible, look for one way links by creating link bait - compelling content that will encourage people to link to your pages.

The link is within the body copy - not an advertising zone
Linking should be a natural part of the body copy. Recent reports suggest that the search engines will derate links from parts of the page that are traditionally sold for advertising. these tend to be the margins, header and footer areas of the page.

The link does not have a nofollow tag
The nofollow tag is a recent innovation that tells the search engines that although I am linking to this other page, I do not vouch for the page's integrity. In short, the nofollow tag tells the search engines to ignore the link. Obviously you do not want links to your web pages to have nofollow tags. Be careful with link exchanges. Some dishonest people will exchange links with you but use nofollow tags in the links to your pages to preserve their own link power.

There are few links on page (less than 20)
One link to your web site from a page with hundreds of links does little for your SEO results. The page's SEO power is being distributed over all the other links on the page. Goo;le's guidelines recommend no more than 100 links per page, but I believe 20 is a reasonable goal. You never know when the Google algorithm may change. The perfect page that links to your pages should have no more than 20 links.

Why SEO Is The Ultimate Traffic Generation Method

First of all, SEO provides you with targeted traffic, not just any visitors. That means visitors that are looking specifically to buy what you are selling.

Common traffic methods like traffic exchanges, safelists, popup or popunder traffic, buying traffic and other methods provide visitors, however these visitors are not always looking for what you sell. In other words most of the time they are looking for something else. It means they will not buy from you.

There are many other reliable traffic generation methods, it is not just SEO. However SEO is one of the best methods and here are some reasons.

First of all you can get a ton of traffic, not little but a lot. You may require some time if your website is brand new to get rankings and start getting traffic. But once you get that first keyword ranked on top, you start getting rankings much faster and much easier.

It is because you get more link exchange requests. Search engines prefer old sites, instead of those brand new. Once you start making money you can invest to automate SEO completely.

So if it takes you two months to get that first keyword ranked on top, it will then take you a month to get three or four more at once. The experience alone and results motivate you to do more. There is another advantage.

If you just got the top position for a keyword such as free mouse traps it will be easier to get on top position the keyword mouse traps or cheap mouse traps. It is because you already have several backlinks with the anchor text mouse traps. If you have the top position for free mouse traps, you should have backlinks with that anchor text.

That is another benefit of choosing long tail keywords, which means keywords with multiple words.

The more backlinks you have the better. So after you get that first keyword ranked on top, while optimizing your site for the new keywords you already have a ton of backlinks. Your site is already established, not brand new. This all makes it easier to get high rankings again and again for new keywords.

So do not believe into what you hear that SEO takes long time, like six months or a year to get results. It all depends on how well you know SEO and how properly you follow SEO strategies. You need to learn SEO from a proven source, someone who can show you results. On the Internet there are many so called SEO experts and firms, who guarantee too good to be true results.

You should get on page one within two months, not a single day more. If it takes you three months you are doing something wrong or you can do something much better, or you are not applying some method correctly enough.. SEO can be fully automated and it can be your traffic generation machine day in day out. SEO alone is enough to give you enough traffic to make four, five or six figures income assuming your website copy and other elements are properly set as well.

There are keywords you can target once you get that experience and you have that extra more investment which can give you fifteen thousand visitors or more a day. Just from one keyword.

That alone should be a good reason to think about implementing SEO in your business as one of the main methods to get targeted traffic.

Why Linking Is an Essential Part of Building Your Online Presence

SEO is very important for websites nowadays, and links are very important for SEO. Most businesses nowadays have realised that an online presence is a must, and with shopping online getting bigger and bigger than ever most businesses realise the importance of having a good search engine presence. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a major concept nowadays. SEO has the purpose of helping a business' website to get on to the first page of a search engines results for a certain keyphrase.

For a business nowadays being on the first page of the search engines for their relevant keyphrases is very important, and an important part of getting a site onto the first page is external links. This is the most important part of optimisation in the eyes of Google.

Google began in 1996 as a project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Larry and Sergey were both studying at Stanford University California. In their research project they came up with a plan to make a search engine that ranked websites according to the number of other websites that linked to that site (and ultimately came up with the Google we have today).

The term PageRank was patented in September 2001 - this term is actually named after co-founder Larry Page and not, as some think, named because it is the rank of a page (webpage).

The Google algorithm that records this is very complicated but essentially it again echoes a real life quality guiding factor. The more people that refer your business (or link to your website) then the more trustworthy it is considered.

If site A has 3 inbound links compared to Site B who has 300 then clearly site B will be considered more important.

If you're looking to increase website traffic this is an excellent company I use who are achieving some amazing results in the search engine optimisation field and have a superb technical team that can help with ecommerce development and website design.

However, if the link is from someone in a related industry then it will be a much more valued link, i.e. if our Manchester florists gets a link from a Glasgow florists and a link from a shirt company then the first one will be the more beneficial.

Further to the mix, is the actual importance of the site providing the link itself. If Google rate one site higher than another then that will also have an effect.

In summary the more links the better but quality usually wins over quantity where applicable.

Discover The Cheapest List Building Technique

Do you know how to discover the cheapest list building technique? Are you broken down by your lack of finance to do all you have to do to drive subscription to your list?

Have you paid so much to list services and have gotten not an encouraging result?

At last, here is a problem solving information. You need to use the Article marketing technique. This involves writing articles and submitting them to article sites. Then wait for search engines to pick them up. When any of the keywords or phrase is searched upon by people who carryout searches, yours is seen and then clicked on to view.

When closing your articles (i.e using the Bio Resource Box), form the habit of either leaving a subscription email or url. This way, subscription rate will increase.

Another method is finding autoresponder companies that will give you their services at a cheap and minimal cost, having all the functions active. Below this article, I recommended one to you. It is very cheap and has all functions of an autoresponder active.

Don't waste your finance on services that promises a whole lot but delivers little or nothing. Endeavor to use good Optimized Keywords to write or coin out the topic of your articles.

Like I said previously, If you have a free gift, store the download link in your autoresponder and paste your autoresponder form on your website. They will have to subscribe to your list before they can get access to the download link of the free gift. Also write articles about such free gift and then direct them to your subscription page. This way, you get good results.

One-Way Links - A Really Simple System For Building Back Links

If you want to run a successful blog at some point, you are going to have to come to terms with two very important SEO techniques. What are these two things one-way link building and RSS feeds. There is a little known way to do this though, which does not have to make it like a trip to the dentist though. As a mater of fact, it is a really simple system for Building Back links, (RSS).

So why are these SEO tactics so important? One-way links are central to search engine optimization and they can spell success or failure for your blog. Probably the quickest and easiest way to generate many high quality one-way links is to use a reliable blog pinging service. This should be part of any solid one-way link building strategy if you want a blog that delivers oodles of free search engine traffic to your blog every day.

When you use a blog pinging service to notify blog directories, blog search engines and RSS feed aggregators that your blog has been updated, you immediately get high value one-way links to your blog from these sites themselves. You also gain a secondary benefit when some of their readers directly link to you from their own blogs and websites. This generates an almost viral, targeted and theme appropriate link-building surrogate for your blog that starts to work like an autopilot one-way link builder.

Traffic Generation through One-Way Links

One-way link building is an important traffic generating strategy for two main reasons. Firstly, one-way links from relevant, respected, and high trafficked sites give extra weight in search engine page rank calculations. This means if you get a lot of inbound links from these kinds of sites you will gain a much higher page rank than if the links are coming from low traffic sites and those with unrelated content.

The higher your page rank, the more likely you are to benefit from free targeted traffic from searches. Secondly, real human visitors not just search bots follow one-way links. The more your link is displayed across the web on high traffic sites targeting a similar audience, the more genuinely interested people will click on a link to your site.

Blog search engines should be central to any link building strategy. Bloggers regularly research on blog search engines and if they discover useful blog posts, they are likely to link to them from their own blogs. More than a link, you will also get comments, which can generate discussion about your blog and create a "buzz." Three of the most effective blog search engines to attract people to your blog are Technorati, Sphere, and Ice Rocket.

RSS Feeds as One-way Link Building Strategies

The most effective link building strategies will utilize RSS Feeds. RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication and is simply an easy way to mass distribute and publish material on the web. You can easily build RSS feeds into your blog that incorporate your links to blog pages.

Every time your feed is shown on another website it counts as another one-way link to your blog. You can use RSS building software to create RSS feed on your blog (RSS Builder is freeware), however many blogging platforms already have RSS feed capability built in. You just have to enable it. Once you have done this, you will be able to submit RSS feeds. Both Blogger.com and one of the most popular blogging scripts WordPress have this capability already no need for extra work.

A Word about Strict RSS Validation

WordPress for example also has plug-ins, which make it simple for users to add your RSS feed to their favorite RSS reader. You can find many low cost or free RSS readers and must services like My Yahoo and iGoogle along with My MSN already have this capability built in.

A word about building blog titles though be careful in how you structure your post title. Many of these services have very strict validation criteria. Punctuation such as apostrophes, quotes, and many other non-alpha numeric characters mess with clean validation and these services will end up making adding your blogs RSS feed impossible, My MSN is famous for this while iGoogle and My Yahoo are a little more forgiving.

How to Effectively use a Blog Pinging Service

These simple one-way link-building strategies are possible by intelligently using a solid blog pinging service. Of course, you will need to write interesting and informative content and update your blog regularly for this strategy to work. However, if you provide good value to readers then blog pinging is a wonderful way to get the word out.

You want to pick a pinging service, which allows you to ping multiple services from one web location. You could go to each service but this is

a) unnecessary

b) very time consuming which kind of goes against the nature of blogging. You want to be able to ping dozens of RSS aggregators, search engines and feed directories from one simple to use web form.

A side note we find it works better to ping each service individual this sounds difficult but once you generally fill in the form it is just a matter of selecting the feed service you wish to ping each time and click the ping button. Every service has their pros and cons but the time you save and the links you will build are priceless. A word of caution ping each service only once per post or you could get your site listed as a Spammer. In conclusion you should make it part of your posting schedule to ping every post too.

Next time you post to your blog, why not try pinging your blog with PingTheWeb a blog pinging service that lets you ping 40 different RSS and feed services. Pinging should be part of your one way link building campaign.

And In The Beginning There Was SEO

So youve just launched your brand spanking new website and are now probably expecting people to flock to your site in droves and give your lots of money. Where are they you may ask as the weeks go by with only very minimal traffic coming into your site. Well they are not visiting you because you need to promote your site online by carrying out SEO, building a site is only part of the battle.

You may be wondering what SEO is. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and is as the name suggests what you must do to optimise your site to be well placed in search engines. So what can you do to increase your presence in the major search engines?

Back links are the major key to increasing the traffic coming into your site and improving your ranking for search terms entered. A back link is a link that points to your website from another website. Generally the more back links have pointing towards your site the better, although the quality of link is important as well, so its best practice to avoid getting back links from non-relevant themed sites or pages.

How does one go about getting these back links?

A good start would be to begin submitting your site to free directories, premium directories, niche directories and to write quality articles related to your website and then submit these to article sites.

There are many directories on the internet with many allowing you to submit your site for free inclusion. There are also many premium directories which charge a fee for including your site, which can be more useful for getting a higher quality link (If you have the budget). Niche directories related to your site can also be beneficial for getting a quality themed link.

Articles represent another excellent way to gain back links. There are hundreds of article submission sites on the internet which are always on the look out for well written and informative articles for their readers, which allow you to submit your article for free. In return for submitting your article to these sites most sites will provide you with the opportunity to create a back link at the bottom of your article that points back to your website. If you have a website about travel for example you could write articles about various popular travel destinations from around the world. If you get stuck for ideas the internet is great for swatting up on your facts, just be sure to write the article in your own words.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this brief introduction into the world of SEO and I wish you all the luck in the world with promoting your site.

Profitable Article Marketing - Latest 4 Amazing New Steps to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most powerful forms of website promotion especially if you are on a tight budget. If you are decided to use this technique to make your website more popular, establish yourself as an expert on you chosen niche, increase your sales potential, pull up your search engine ranking, and augment your profits, these 4 amazing new steps can help you jumpstart your marketing efforts:

1. Avoid blatant advertisements. This is the common mistake of new marketers. They provide little information about their topics and they talk so much about the features and benefits of their products. This will not in any way help you boost your sales potentials. Why? Publishers do not want to publish articles that sound more like a sales letter because people find them annoying. Besides, your articles must be able to educate and impart knowledge to your potential clients so they will be read and republished by other online users.

2. Do not include links on your articles. If you want to increase your chances of publication, you must make sure that your articles are free from hyperlinks. Publishers will only allow you to insert URL or anchor texts on your resource box.

3. Avoid spelling and grammar errors. If you would like to create a good impression online, you must care to provide articles that are error-free. This will strengthen your credibility and your professionalism.

4. Avoid too much hype on your resource box. While you are allowed to insert URLs on this part, you must not make it sound like an advert. It should only contain your name, your expertise, and your URL. Keep it short, compelling, catchy, and intriguing so you can effectively drive readers to your website.
