Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. One of the cornerstones of successful email marketing is the ability to pull in a constant flow of leads into your online business. You constantly need fresh leads to replace the leads which unsubscribe. In other words, your "attrition rate" should be low. So how do you feed your autoresponder with fresh leads day in day out?

The secret is in persistent advertising. But you probably knew that already right? So why you are not getting the leads you are supposed to?

You NEED to constantly be putting your website out there in front of people!

You must spend time each day doing some promotional activities which will increase your lead subscription rate. You must set a goal of the average number of subscribers you want pumped into your autoresponder account each day. And strive to reach that goal.

Here's some highly effective methods to build a monster list real quickly:

1. Forum posting

"Advertising" your site at forums is one way to get tons of targeted subscribers. But you must build a little bit of a reputation first before you can expect to build a huge list from forums. Go to your signature file and write up an attractive signature with your website link in it. Then post on forums. Get yourself to be known as an authority on the subject.

2. Pay per click advertising

This is one of the quickest ways to build a money-pumping list. It's advisable to start out small in pay per click advertising. Use 3 of the best PPC engines for maximum results: Google Adwords, Yahoo and MSN.

3. Classified ads

Tiny little classified ads are one of the most effective methods of advertising your website on the Internet. There are a few classified ads sites which allow you to get started getting your site in front of thousands quickly, including Craigslist, US Free Ads, Yahoo Classifieds and MySpace Classifieds.

Literally inside of a garage, Google's humble start in September 1998 has produced a worldwide heavyweight that is unmatched in its quest to lead the way in internet search. Smaller search engines have been pushed to the side and even Google's chief competitors -- Yahoo and MSN -- are becoming bit players. Google's constant quest for improvement and expansion into other areas of web service has been phenomenal. Now, Google is taking on Paypal with its introduction of Google Checkout as mentioned by me in one of my other blogs.

While some are alarmed by Google's continuing fast paced growth, the company is proving that if you offer a better product at a lower price [or for free as in the case of so many of its applications including GMail] then the customers will flock to your store. Indeed, that is what Google hopes that you will do: add one more service and give them one more opportunity to show to you what they really want you to see: ads. Yes, Google's AdWords/AdSense program is so huge that it accounts for virtually all of its revenue. Thus, your using Google Checkout means Google can run ads somewhere, some place in hopes that you will click through and ring up the $$$ that will ultimately find their way into the company's bottomline.

Ingenious, isn't it? You bet. Now if Yahoo and MSN can ever figure out what hit them, we may get some real competition in the mix. Paypal/eBay must be worried, but don't expect them to stand still either. It gets interesting...

Link popularity is the most important aspect of search engine optimization. If your site has good content, good design, and good structure, that is fine, but you will never be successful without lots of inbound links. Through link baiting, simply having the above can make you successful, but if you do not actually work on building link popularity initially, you will never attract the viral visitors necessary to spread your site around. Here are several tips you should follow to make sure your link building campaigns go well.

Do not even bother with link exchanges, they are nearly worthless and add so little weight to your site it is not even worth pursuing them. Also, if you do too many, you can even be penalized by search engines. In the rare case you do not know, a link exchange is when you agree to link to one site if they link to you. In some cases, link exchanges can be somewhat valuable. If the site you are trading with is very similar to yours, or if it has a much higher PR, the link exchange can be quite beneficial. However, the link weight carried by a one-way link is still much higher than any link exchange could achieve.

Companies usually buy links on websites as a way to get traffic, but text links are most useful for SEO purposes. When buying links, make sure that they are static and not dynamic. Dynamic links are structured like "http://www.example.com/out=502019" instead of simply "http://www.yoursite.com". You may be tempted to buy tons of links from several small websites, simply because it is cheaper per link. Only buy from highly relevant, high PR websites. Although the price per link is much more expensive, and you may only be able to afford links from a few sites, the link power is so high that even one can overpower ten irrelevant, low PR websites. Gaining links from reputable pages is the fastest way to gain credibility and high rankings yourself.

Even if you buy tons of high-quality links, if your site does not have a good design, you will not succeed. Remember, the largest amount of your links should come about naturally, and people won't link to you if they do not like how your site looks. Buying links should only be to initially get you visitors and SE traffic, but after that, you should focus only on link baiting.

There are unique ways out there to build links that you can do throughout the entire life of your site (unless it becomes successful enough that you feel you do not need to build links yourself anymore). One is writing content in exchange for links; for example, writing an article for a website in exchange that they link to you somewhere on their site. If you are a good writer and approach a lot of sites, this can be a very, very good way to build links. Even if the site only links to you on the page where your article is located, it is still a link. Another good way to get free links is to befriend various webmasters by posting on their blogs and forums. If you become established enough, the owner may give you a link. This is time-consuming, however, and does not guarantee you links, but it is worth a shot.

A single industry of any type is far to large for any individual business to tackle all on its own. Even the largest corporations cannot cover a whole market by themselves. This is where niche marketing becomes a businesspersons best friend for making potential much more manageable. If you develop your own niche marketing strategy, then your business will offer specialized goods and services, and you will be able to target specific niche groups of prospective clients.

But what does niche marketing actually mean for your own unique business? By understanding your own business niche, it means that you gain the capability for mastering your own special corner of the marketplace. Your niche marketing strategy will bring about a better ability for catering to specific customer interest so that you can capitalize upon it. Youll have your own unique niche in the business world in which you will stand out the most.

Think about your business niche carefully before deciding upon it, as you will dedicate yourself to it rather exclusively from that point on. Youll need to make sure that it is a niche marketing strategy that is indeed achievable.

Once youve chosen how you will be niche marketing, you will need to ask yourself certain questions about how you will develop this into a niche marketing strategy. These questions should include:

 How is my business most effective? What are my special skills and strengths? When answering this question, go over both your own abilities, and the abilities of your company as a whole. List your strengths and skills. You may find this process to be quite enlightening. It includes things that youve always known, but may not have actually recognized for their full potential.

 What do you and your other team members enjoy doing? The more you like what youre doing, the more youll naturally be able to dedicate to its success. If you dont like your business niche, there may not even be profit available, because youll be held back on a subconscious level. To begin answering this question, one of the best places to look is at your hobbies and the things that you already do for enjoyment. Instead of only working with your dreams which may or not be what they expect them to be in reality look at what youve already tried and already liked. These are the tried, tested, and true activities for you, and are those to which youre most likely to motivate you the most. This passion can only translate to added profit. Not only will this make your company a more enjoyable venture, but it will give you endurance and focus that you may never have known you had. This level of stamina and motivation is vital to starting up a fresh company, or changing a business that already exists.

 What do you need to make this niche work? Its all well and good to choose a niche marketing strategy, but its another to recognize what is involved to make the theory a reality. Youve identified your strengths and what you enjoy, now its time to assess them with customers in mind. How can you use this information in a way that will make customers buy something? To answer this question, look at your potential customers. What do they already buy, and what are they likely to buy in the future?

Now youre ready to come up with your niche marketing plan. The last step is to make certain that it doesnt interfere or conflict with any business plan that you already have in place. The niche marketing strategy is only valuable if it can be made to function within your own companys potential.

Niche marketing is among the best things you can do to maximize your success potential in a staggeringly large marketplace. Begin today and reap the rewards that are so close to being yours.

Businesses that are active on the Internet, no matter how large or small, are now starting to realize the importance of search engine optimization. As with almost all things that are Internet related, however, there are a number of considerations to be made which can affect the level of success they achieve. One of the major areas of concern is how to go about finding the best solution for optimizing your businesses' Web presence, and one thing to do this is by giving the art of search engine optimization a try.

You may have already heard some positive details about SEO and what it can do for your site, however you've also probably heard of some sad stories about fast talking, black hat SEO "experts" who assure high rankings but ultimately pass sites removed from the index altogether considering of their shady methods.

Ask The Firm To Give You An Overview Of The Services Offered

Asking your prospective firm what they would be including with their services is a fairly decent question to ask them. While you don't need a complete breakdown of each and every specific detail and plan, however getting a clear understanding of what areas of the site will be changed, how the link building will be undertaken and the fundamental philosophy or approach your prospective SEO company will be taking, are good questions that need to be answered. If some aspect or concern doesn't seem right in what you're being told, it would be good to start asking in one of the many popular forums.

Verify If The SEO "Experts" Could Rank Their Own Site

The first thing you should look for when hiring an SEO expert is whether or not they can rank their own Web site. This may seem obvious enough because some businesses have experienced wasting both time and money on an SEO firm that couldn't, or didn't, get the job done.

Too often when we take a look at the Web site and research their targeted phrases, which are usually quite obvious when you look at the title and heading tags, you may find that they don't even rank for their own phrases.

Evaluate The Guarantees They Offer You

If you have a new site or a site in a highly competitive area and you are told that the company can get you much-improved rankings on Google in 60 days, they're either just telling you what they think will make you sign on the dotted line, or they have no idea what they're doing. In either event you're in for disappointment.

An honest and straight-forward SEO firm will give you realistic expectations, which will generally span over many months and sometimes over years depending on the scope and competition levels involved. If you have a new site competing for moderately competitive phrases, any claims from a company that they will have you ranking high on a search engine in anything less than 5 or 6 months, as even this may be optimistic, are more than likely to be untrue.

To be clear, there are some good SEO firms that don't offer guarantees and there are also companies or so-called experts that do offer guarantees but don't do a very good job. The purpose of asking direct questions to providers however is not to point fingers, but rather to point out what you should expect to happen, and how to be able to differentiate the professionals from the amateurs.

If the 'experts' offer a guarantee, what is it? If the person or company doesn't have a guarantee then what do they have under their belt in the way of reputation? It's a nice thing to ask a lot of good questions first, before signing a contract and placing your full trust on so-called SEO "experts", who may not give you clear guarantees.

There are so many people out there that claim to know about Search Engine Optimization and who claim to know what it means to have an SEO-friendly website, it makes one wonder if all of these people really know what the process is all about. Chances are you, the website owner, hired someone with the idea that you were getting great SEO result and found that your results were only mediocre at best.

Oddly enough, it is not just smaller companies that are confused by the entire SEO issue, but larger firms suffer from SEO confusion. Also, higher priced doesn't always mean better service. Shop around and ask the hard questions before hiring an SEO firm.

The thing to remember is that SEO has changed since the beginning. Search engine algorithms have evolved and are far more sophisticated. This evolution means that the guidelines are continually changing.

A New Idea

SEO is a little more than ten years old. In the beginning, webmasters began optimizing sites by submitting a page or two to search engines that would then send out a searchbot or spider to crawl that page, extract links to the other pages in the site and gather the information found on the pages it finds.

The process involved a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine's own server when a second application, known as an indexer, extracts the information found on the pages. The information about the pages, such as the words found on the pages, links, where everything is located on the page, is then placed into a scheduler to be crawled again at a later date.

Early versions of search engine algorithms relied solely on the webmaster providing information through the metatags, or index files. Metatags provided a kind of road map to the page's content. As soon as webmasters realized this was the procedure, it became an unreliable system because webmasters could manipulate keywords and descriptions so that they had nothing at all to do with the actual page content.

Google is Born in 1998

All of this changed when Google arrived on the scene in 1998. Not only was Google's simple page design appealing to Internet users, users liked the off-page factors such as page ranking and the on-page analysis of a website. This eliminated the keyword manipulation that plagued other search engines.

SEO Today

SEO today is improving the volume of website traffic and the quality of visitors to the site via the use of targeted keywords. An SEO expert has to think like their consumer, and they also have to understand how the algorithms work. SEO should involve the site's code, overall design, text-rich content, accurate navigation and eliminate anything that would prevent a spider from crawling the entire site.

In addition to organic searches to the site, a good SEO firm will establish a pay-per-click advertising campaign to boost site visibility. Google considers popularity a major factor when ranking a page.

A well-conceived plan will attack the web from several different angles at the same time. Social networking is an important factor as well as inbound links. The inbound links have to be chosen carefully and have a relationship to the website in some way. Otherwise, Google may consider the site simply a link farm.
