SEO Visibitly or SEO Visibility? Can Misspelling Help Your Business?

You may say that SEO Visibitly is just plain wrong! I know the very idea would upset Mrs Garton, my old English teacher, but sometimes using misspellings could be the right thing to do.

To explain why optimizing for a misspelling can help increase your website's traffic we need to take a look at our own search habits. I type fairly quickly, but not very accuratley or should that be accurately, so mistakes, like that one, often occur. When Im using a Word processor or my blog account spellcheck takes care of those errors for me. With the search engines theres no spellcheck, you get exactly what you typed. I guess the same is true for a lot of people searching for information. So, quite often, a phrase like SEO Visibility will be transformed into SEO Visibitly.

Keyword Research
I did some research using Wordtracker Competition Search Automation and KRA and the results are worthy of note. I found that the phrase SEO Visibility is searched for approximately 167 times per day across all the major search engines.

SEO Visibitly, the misspelled version, is searched for slightly less with around 142 searches, but when we look at the competition for the phrases theres a considerable difference. Spelled correctly SEO Visibility has 600 competing pages, the misspelled version SEO Visibitly has only 7.

A search using googles operator intitle: gives us a more accurate estimate of pages that have actually been optimized to for a particular phrase and so weeds out the accidental hits. The search for intitle:seo visibility returns 219 competing pages, not a massive level of competition, but take a look at intitle:seo visibility and there are still only 7 pages to compete with. As long as you have SEO Visibitly in the title tag you cant fail to be on the all important first page of the google search results. The only question is would you prefer to compete with 219 sites or 7 for about the same amount of traffic, I know what I'd prefer!

But what about the Mrs Garton factor?
Or can you be a trustworthy source of information if you dont know how to spell? This question touches on the issue of trust, which is especiallyimportant for anyone trying to sell a product or service online. The perceived risk is higher if buyers have no personal contact with sellers. So this is a genuine problem that needs to be addressed whenever you use misspellings to bring in traffic.

How you do that will depend on the structure and aims of your articles or the copy on your webpages. My own chosen method is to admit my mistake early and explain that I use misspellings to ensure that everyone can find my site. Instead of being a negative, misspellings are a kind of additional service. I dont have any hard data, but Im pretty sure a misspelling in the title tag drives off a few really pedantic searchers.

Conclusion
In the end, Search Engine Optimization is all about generating targeted traffic. To that we need to be giving people what theyre theyre looking for. By using misspelling were aiming to give people what they want and thats got to be a good idea in any business.

Search Engine Optimization - A Back Linking Strategy

Search Engine Optimization (or SEO) is a necessary part of getting any website noticed. These days, the internet is so huge that without a well thought out strategy for getting your website ranked. Without it, it is like opening a shop in New York or London and saying 'come and visit my shop, it's in New York'. What are the chances of anyone finding you?

The key of course is to make your site feature for the keywords which you are targeting. It must all be part of a coherent and well thought out strategy.

Back linking is a key strategy to getting your website ranked for certain keyword phrases. Without the keyword research, you are blundering around in the dark as to what to aim your site towards for the purposes of SEO, of course. However, once you have aimed your site at a certain keyword you know is searched for, you must maximize your efforts towards that keyword phrase as part of your SEO campaign.

As a start, I go to Google and type in the keyword phrase I am targeting my site or page towards. I then work out what makes that site great and key to that is to research their back linking strategy.

This can be done in a number of ways. Enter the full URL into Google of the site that is number 1 with 'link:' at the front (but not in the inverted commas). This will tell you which other sites are linking to that site. If you have the Google Toolbar installed, make a note of the Google PR too.

You must then perform a similar search with 'allintitle.

However, I find it much easier to run such work through software like SEO Equalizer as this automates the process for me. I can look through MSN and Yahoo as well. It will tell me the Google page ranking as well of the sites and the whole search takes a matter of a minute.

However you do it, the key information is to find out what sites are linking to your competitors and whether they are well regarded sites by Google. You need a list.

This will tell you to some degree how many backlinks and of what quality you may need to compete with in order to compete. You then set out to have more backlinks of better quality.

If your competitor site has, for instance, 12 backlinks , 3 of which are Google PR of 2 and the rest none, you know this site will be quite easy to compete with.

However, a key ingredient is what anchor text is being used in those backlinks.

Many people use 'Click Here' for their links to sites, but for SEO, this is a disaster. If I want my site ranking well for 'SEO Equalizer', for instance, I ensure my backlinks have the link that is clicked to connect to me as 'SEO Equalizer' and not something else.

This is key because Google will associate my page with those keywords and my site will go up a few points accordingly. If a lot of sites point to my site using this anchor text of SEO Equalizer, Google will associate my page as an authority for those words.

This is why it is essential to have your keyword research done before you begin optimisation of your site.

Key also is to link your site to as many other sites as possible. Hence, linking your site to a blog or a forum through signature posts improves your score. Setting up separate blogs and Lenses for instance also makes Google think your site is an authority site and improves your ranking accordingly. Google may not know you also control or own those sites . . .

A key strategy here is if you set up satellite sites to create good anchor text backlinks to your main page, you can also then optimize those sites by back linking those to other sites. If you can push your satellite sites and improve their scoring, these will raise the score of your main site.

If your competitor site has links to various places (and check them out), you can also email them and ask them for links as well. If you have links for the same sites as they do and your own back links form other sources, your page will eventually outscore that one and get to the top.

Researching these links is quite time consuming but it worth it. However, using SEO Equalizer will dramatically cut the time down as you can email those sites your competitors backlink to directly from the programmed ask for your own backlink.

Also useful is that in programs like SEO Equalizer, you can set up auto compete and look for relevant link sites to add your site to. This will also in the long term allow your backlinks to really flourish and doing this with SEO Equalizer is a real time saver.

It is surprising how vulnerable many sites are for even competitive keywords when you look at their overall SEO Strategy. By putting some of these tactics into play, you can do a lot to exploit those vulnerabilities or perhaps to look to see how vulnerable your own site may be.

Is Bum Marketing and Article Marketing One in the Same?

To begin, Bum Marketing is a new phrase used to explain an old technique. The reason this phrase has become so popular is because Travis Sago put together a nice, free training course outlining this old, effective technique and named it Bum Marketing.

Since the use of Article Marketing is the main promotion technique of Bum Marketing, many people get the two confused and believe that they are one in the same.

So what is Bum Marketing? To sum it all up into one sentence, it is the technique of using all of the known promotion methods i.e. Article Marketing, Classified Ads etc., to promote affiliate links from ClickBank, CommissionJunction and any other affiliate program you are a member of.

What is Article Marketing? This is the absolute best form of free, effective promotion. You write informational articles and submit them to article directories. The article directories now get your free content so in turn, they allow you to add a signature block that contains a little information about you and your product/service along with a few links to your site or blog.

Why is Article Marketing so effective? This could be thoroughly explained in about 30 pages but I will give you a quick explanation.

The number one reason why article marketing is so effective is because every article you write is a never-ending promotion for your site. Every article will continue to be on the Internet for life with your links active within.

Also, when you publish your articles to article directories, you agree to allow others to publish that article to their Website, Blog or Ezine. Ezines provide the opportunity to get your article seen by thousands of people in literally seconds. If a big Ezine owner is interested enough in your article to publish it to his or her Ezine, that could result in thousands of site views, which means a bunch of money for you.

The problem with the Bum Marketing Method is that although it is a great guide on an effective technique, it does not go into detail how to effectively run an article marketing campaign. There are several things you must know about article marketing in order to achieve top results. Find these techniques and you will find loads of money online.

How To Get Your Articles Published Online

Article marketing, using articles to boost your traffic and sales, is one of the most effective online marketing strategies you can use. Why you ask? Because articles are the perfect marketing tools for promoting any website or product.

However, it is not just simply a matter of throwing a few words together on a webpage and hoping for the best. To effectively use articles as marketing tools you must follow some simple procedures and practices in order to get your articles published online and in ezines more often.

Here are some article marketing tips you can try. These methods are proven and have worked for thousands of professional online marketers including the one writing this piece.

Why Articles Work

But before we start, you must understand why articles are so crucial to your marketing in the first place. You must truly understand why and how articles work so effectively as marketing vehicles in our newly wired world. It all boils down to one word... information.

The main reason articles work is information. The whole Internet is based on information. People use the web to access information and your well written article can help satisfy this need. You must place your article squarely into this whole information cycle.

Your article must be informative and provide some benefit to the reader. Tips, advice, how-to... your reader should gain something from spending a few minutes reading your article. The more beneficial your article, the more popular it will become and you will have a better chance of getting it published.

Title & Keywords

Your article title should contain two vital elements: Keywords and Benefits. Your title must contain your keywords or keyword phrases, these are the exact words someone types into the search engines to find what they are looking for on the web.

You must find the exact words people are using and include these in your title as well as in your article. Many professional marketers use keyword research software like Keyword Elite but you can also use free keyword suggestion tools like WordTracker or Overture: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/

I find short catchy titles are best for capturing the attention of the reader. With our split second surfing habits, the title may be your only chance you get to hook your readers and keep them on your page. Another tactic is to make all your articles easily scannable with your main points highlighted for quick absorption.

Length

Most experts suggest you keep your articles short, in the 500 - 700 word range. Many authors/marketers use even shorter formats in the 200 - 300 word range in order to fit neatly on webpages.

I personally have found my more meatier articles in the 900 - 1200 word range have worked the best for me and seems to get featured in important ezines like Addme, SiteProNews... more often than shorter articles. My best advice is to cut out any unnecessary fluff but write in your own natural style which is comfortable for you.

Submission

You must distribute your articles on the web. You can personally submit your articles to the many article directory sites on the web or you can purchase a service which does this for you. I do both.

I personally submit my articles to the major high PR6 or PR7 sites which display my articles. I have found articles placed on Ezinearticles.com, Buzzle.com, Goarticles.com, Articlealley.com, Promotionworld.com, Thumbshots.org, Site-reference.com, Ideamarketers.com, Selfgrowth.com... do extremely well.

I would suggest you use 9 or 10 of these highly popular sites to display your articles, not only for the traffic they deliver but for increasing your rankings in the search engines, especially Google.

I have also found using a paid online service like SubmitYourArticle is really helpful, especially when I am on vacation or away from my computer for any length of time. I also use this service to quickly write different versions of my articles for the best search engine optimization. I am also concerned with covering different article lengths because many webmasters will only publish short articles.

Resource Box/Anchor Text

Your resource box is at the end of each article and this is where you place URLs for those all important One-Way links back to your site. Many marketers are careful to place their targeted keywords and variations in the anchor text of their links. It is also a good idea to provide some benefit or free gift to enhance your 'call to action' and improve your chances of getting that all important click.

Be Consistent

I have found a steady supply of fresh articles on a regular basis works the best. These articles keep your site or products fresh in the search engines and in front of your potential customers and editors/webmasters who publish your content. Try for at least two articles per week.

Own List of Editors

Along the same lines, build your own opt-in list of editors and webmasters who have opted in to receive your latest articles. Send a copy of your article to these interested parties and you will increase your chances of getting your articles published.

I also make it a point of including my most popular articles in my own ezines and blogs. This helps to kickstart or launch my newest articles.

Autoresponders

Many marketers place their articles in autoresponders so anyone requesting your article can easily use email to retrieve it. Many marketers also use RSS feeds to distribute their articles. If doing your own feeds seems too complicated, then just use any of the major article directories like Ezinearticles which will supply you with a convenient RSS feed for your articles.

Spam Check Your Articles

I always make it a point of testing my articles for any words or phrases that will trigger the spam filters and block my articles. This is extremely important if you want your article to be featured in ezines and newsletters. I check my articles within my Aweber autoresponder service but you can use a free SpamCheck service offered by SiteSell: http://bizwaremagic.com/spamcheck.htm

Personality

Articles that show some originality and personality have worked the best for me. Showing and telling your own story and experiences in a light hearted way seems to work really well in the somewhat impersonal online world. Having a sense of humor also helps, try to make your articles entertaining as well as informative and your articles will be picked up more often.

Conclusion

Writing unique informative articles is one of the most effective ways to market on the web. Remember to keep your articles informative, personable, keyword rich, short and to the point. Take a pro-active approach to promoting your articles: submit them to the major online article directories, send them to editors and webmasters who request content from you and place your articles on your site, in your blogs and RSS feeds.

Used properly, articles can be effective marketing tools for boosting both your traffic and sales. Perhaps the best part of all, article marketing is completely free. What more can you ask for?

Affiliate Project X - Affiliate Secrets Exposed

There are always some new affiliate marketing products coming and it seems they are endless. However, quite many of them supply us with information that we already know, and there is nothing new to discover.

It doesn't often happen when new product comes out and I find some new techniques there. Although, I didn't have any hops for Affiliate Project X as well. I was thinking, it's just another product.

I thought, this ebook will be full of affiliate marketing stuff that I already know.

However, I was completely wrong.

There are 6 methods in Affiliate Project X mentioned by Chris X, and five of them were new to me. I am an experienced Internet marketer, and this guy seriously impressed me.

Truth About Affiliate Project X

Techniques in ANY ebook are useful if they bring you profitable results. If you can't make money of them, then the techniques are useless.

So I decided to test Affiliate Project X methods. Chris says that you don't need to be experienced to be able to use his techniques, so this ebook would be good for beginners as well.

I started off with a budget of $300 on a completely new campaign. A month later after using Affiliate Project X techniques, I was averaging $150 a day and my total profits was $1000 only from that campaign.

My spendings were under $200, including the cost of Affiliate Project X. Everything that I did wasn't really difficult for me, and I think that a newbie affiliate could handle my work too. If I started earning $150 a day after a first month of using Chris X's methods, imagine what your earnings could be a like after 5-6 months?? Maybe you could be one of those guys earning $1000 a day and driving around the town in a red, shiny Ferrari or yellow Lamborghini.

I would say that Affiliate Project X is one of the best affiliate marketing products ever created. I highly recommended for both advanced and newbie marketers.

Website Assessment Criteria - Search Engine Ranking

One of the major factors in website assessment criteria is the role of search engine ranking of your site compared to your competitors'. While reviewing a website, higher search engine ranking for a webpage's keyword is the important factor that brings a lot of traffic to that web site.

This website assessment criteria is one of the first elements you have to find out when reviewing a website. It'll show the way to you for further website optimization.

What's the Search Engine Ranking of Your Website?

Suppose you're searching a word or phrase in a search engine. When the Search Engine Result Page (SERP) appears, you'll see 10 results in each page. They're the web sites that have ranked highest for the searched term you've typed. This is the general method for discovering the search engine ranking of web sites for the searched term.

These days when we talk about the search engine ranking of a website in search engines, usually Google is in our minds. As the major part of searching in most of the countries is done through Google, this search engine plays a vital role in bringing success to you. Of course, you have to see if this is the case with your e-business or not.

Google Page Rank (PR) System

To learn about the page rank of a website in Google, the easiest way is to download and install the Google Toolbar on your web browser. As soon as you enter a website's URL, the Google ranking indicator shows its PR on a 0-10 scale. It won't count that much in reviewing a website based on our website assessment criteria list.

Let's not be too overwhelmed by Google PR system for our Internet business. What matters the most is to rank high at SERPs for the key phrases we've selected. Having 100 targeted visitors per day and lower Google PR is much better than having 1000 visitors per day who visit our sites for various other reasons.

Search Engine Ranking Based on Keywords

You compete with other websites over certain keywords or key phrases. The website that appears higher in SERPs enjoys higher ranks (visibility) for them. Obviously, higher ranking leads to more influx of targeted visitors to your site.

High visibility is a factor every website owner likes to achieve. The important question is where you'd like to have such visibility? In which search engines? For which keywords?

No wonder why there's so much effort and competition on achieving a position on the first (two) page of SERPs. Your entire attempt is toward gaining more targeted traffic. Such traffic brings the kind of visitors you're looking for " they should be easily made into customers if your content is created properly. If you're on the third or forth page of the SERPs, there'll hardly be any chance to be found.

In summary, you should select your keywords or key phrases very carefully and put a lot of efforts gaining higher search engine ranking for them. This website assessment criteria helps you realize where you stand compared to your competitors. Knowing this, you should find ways to surpass them.

Keyword Selection

Website Assessment should be performed mainly based on the competition you have with your fellow websites over certain keywords or key phrases. You'll have to use a set of relevant keywords on the your webpages and optimize them for those keywords.

Every website is focused on its niche market. It's likely that your competitor doesn't concentrate exactly on the same niche market that you are. Despite this, when it occupies a higher search engine ranking for your keywords, it'll be considered competition.

Every optimized website has targeted certain keywords through optimization process. Since search engine ranking, as one of the website assessment criteria, works based on the keywords you use, you're seriously in need of a well-managed Keyword Discovery OR KeyPhrase Research.

It's not recommended to select the keywords that receive lots of competition and searches, because it will put you in a difficult position. It's usually recommended to begin with the key phrases more specific to your niche. Although less people search for those phrases, they'll be the same people you're looking for. Here, less traffic is better than larger number of visitors who won't take any action at your site.

Taking Actions for Higher Search Engine Ranking

After you've realized how tough or easy the competition is over your choice key phrases, you'll need to take the following steps:

* Create new content on your site centered around the newly-selected key phrases,

* Optimize the new pages for your key phrases ,

* Submit those new pages to the major search engines, and

* Try to gain inbound link to them from other websites using various methods.

The last but not the least, the process of reviewing a website should be an ongoing effort performed alongside with the above measures to see how your progress is. It takes time and patience, but you'll see the result if you pay due attention to search engine ranking as one of the most important website assessment criteria.

How To Make Money Online

Internet is providing excellent opportunities to make money. It has a never ending supply of money making ideas. Internet is providing a great opportunity to people from all walks of life like retired, house wives, working class, disabled, to name few. Everybody knows that there are opportunities to make money on internet. But, no one is sure about the genuine money making ideas so we come across the question how to money online everyday.

If you want a genuine answer I would say with the amount of scams around us we must be little careful when we select an online opportunity. The genuine opportunities include Google Adsense, Paid surveys, and ebay. Though there are many more opportunities, these are the significant programs where we can make some money if we channel our efforts in a right way.

Now let us talk about Google Adsense. Google Adsense is a great opportunity for people who could express themselves in writing. If you are passionate about a subject, If you want to express your feelings to the world you can on internet do so easily by the way of blogging. After writing your blogs you can apply for an Adsense account and if you have a worthy content you can get your account accepted. Google has this ability to drive content based ads to your blogs and websites and this maximizes the revenue for you. I want to inform you that you don't get rich overnight. You are required to put in some effort and you will reap the benefit.

Next on my list is paid surveys. The concept is very simple with you helping the survey providers with your opinion, they pay you. A lot of scams are also happening in this field. You would see a lot of sale letters offering you sky with this opportunity. I am little bit skeptical on that. You can earn some money by answering surveys but those kind of earnings, I don't subscribe to it.

I would like my readers to give some thoughts to ebay. In ebay you have a market with lot of prospective buyers waiting for sellers to display their goods. All you have to do is to find a product to sell. Selling on ebay is very easy with ebay helping you in every step to sell. It is a market bursting with opportunities and I would suggest you to utilize this unique opportunity. Ebay is one opportunity you must try because there are no better opportunities on internet than ebay.

Bum Marketing Method Exposed - Why I Market Exclusively With Articles Part 1

I am going to try and keep this series of articles straight to the point as I will try to give you a very simple and proven plan that you can use right away to start generating profits from your home internet business using the bum marketing method.

However, be advised as there will be some work involved. Like anything in life you reap what you sow. Most people make the common mistake when they start a home based internet business of mainly doing research. To succeed you need to use a system that works and then take massive action. So by not taking any action even if their website is not perfect they ultimately set themselves up for failure.

At this point you may question me and ask can I really be successful with this system? Well this is my own unique system that I am personally using so that I know it works. I am sure that you must have read plenty of adverts by now promising instant riches. Well I am sorry to disappoint you as this system will not provide instant riches. However, if you follow it you will build a stable internet business with hard work that can become lucrative if you are persistent and have an entrepreneurial mindset. So just remember that all you need is time and massive effort to succeed using bum marketing.

The very first step is just to get going using this proven bum marketing method. Most people have a mental barrier about succeeding online. Once you put in some work and you earn your first few dollars you will realize that success is possible. This will allow you to focus more and achieve better results.

Usually people who fail with internet marketing have actually never had any tangible success. That is the main reason they give up as they think of it as an impossible dream.

I am really a bit introverted so running a business where I need to call people or sit in a shop really does not appeal to me. I once tried face to face selling and I absolutely hated it. I think that is why most people fail in network marketing as nobody likes rejection.

So with this system of bum marketing it entails mainly communicating or writing and thinking like an entrepreneur. You can start off by recommending products as an affiliate marketer using a system like Clickbank to earn commissions. Once you start seeing results you can also develop your own unique products.

How to Write Search Engine Optimized (SEO) Articles

Your articles must be optimized for the search engines. In the internet, content is king and keyword rich-article is the most powerful way to generate content and traffic. Article is like an open book for all to read. Content is not just king, the search engines also love fresh and original, and focused content.

Many article authors are afraid of keyword SPAMMING but what I found out is that a lot of articles are not optimized for the search engines as such lose their relevance to surfers who are searching for information or solution to their problems and challenges. As an article author, you have to reprogram your mind to write SEO article not just another regular article. For instance, if the keyword you are targeting is meditation, instead of writing articles I should be specific by writing meditation articles

The heart and soul of SEO article writing is keyword research. Without relevant keyword or key phrases, your articles will lose focus and will not benefit your surfers, web traffic or ranking. Keyword-rich and relevant articles are win-win both for the web surfers, you the author of the articles and your search engine ranking. This is because the search engines treat your article as an individualized web page. If your articles are not search engine optimized, people will not find your site and you will not rank high, generate traffic or make money. Note that every article is a soft sell or subtle advertising for the article writer who is positioning himself as an expert or problem solver in a target niche.

However, do not position yourself as an article author; position yourself as an information marketer. Why? Because SEO article writing is a powerful strategy for your search engine marketing, traffic attraction, lead generation and monetization. Yes, most info-marketers make money; most authors have empty pockets.

Choose one or two keyword to optimize in your SEO article writing. The rest should be synonyms of the key phrases you are optimizing for the search engines. The search engines dont only look for your keyword but also the keyword popularity, keyword density, as well as on-page placement of keywords in your SEO articles.

Generally, SEO (keyword-rich and focused) articles should be between 350 to 700 words. Search engines love focused content and great attention must be paid to targeted keywords to enable web surfers find what they are looking for.

Within the body of the SEO articles, a lot of work and attention should be paid to the headlines (nicknamed titles when it comes to articles). Search engines pick on headlines first. Work hard to craft your headlines with one or two of your targeted keywords. Try as much as possible to remove stop phrases like a, and, the, of, and because. These are called stop words and most search engines do not index them. The title font should be H1 tag-- fancy way of saying that the title should contain the biggest letters.

The next biggest header type is H2 tags reserved for subheading or subtitles found inside the body an SEO article. Some people call these set of tags scan or paragraph breakers because majority of people scan instead of reading for lack of time. This is the case with especially long articles.

In the body of the SEO article, the first two sentences in the paragraph should also contain your keyword or key phrases if those articles must be relevant for the search engines.

The next thing you must bear at the back of your mind is that every subsequent paragraphs in an SEO article should have at least one keyword. Dont over do it by writing more than two keywords in a paragraph. In my case, I try to use synonyms (keywords that are similar in meaning) for variety. It makes you dynamic, creative and more natural.

Your conclusion or summary towards the end is also where search engines look at for keyword relevance. Incorporate this in your SEO article writing.

Generally your keyword density for an SEO article should be about 10% or less of your total word count (350-700 words).

Your SEO article resource box may be the most powerful part of your unique selling proposition and search engine marketing promotions.. Make good use of your author's bio for your search engine relevance and ranking. Thats also the spot for your call to action. It is also the only place where Ezine Articles.Com and other article directories allow you to insert your URL of the SEO article. Make sure you use anchor text instead of direct URL. Anchor text tells search engine more about your keyword relevance and direction. If you want deep links, place the articles in your blog first before submitting it to article directories for distribution.

Website Traffic - Why Article Marketing Blows Away Pay-Per-Click Marketing

It's always great to compare traffic generation strategies because you can tell which strategy is giving you results and which isn't. Or maybe both strategies may be giving you results but you want to know which is more effective in generating qualified prospects.

Two of the most popular traffic generation methods online today are article marketing and pay-per-click marketing. This article won't talk about what both methods are (there are already tons of articles on that) but will compare the two to see which strategy you should invest your efforts in.

Personally, for me, article marketing blows pay-per-click marketing out of the water. Pay-per-click marketing consists of Google's Adwords and Yahoo's Search Marketing, so that's no small statement I'm making. Well, there's a reason why I say article marketing is more effective.

Let's say that you spend $10 a day on Adwords. That's $300 a month. Now take that $300 and spend it on 100 articles written by a freelancer. Those 100 articles will bring you traffic for a long time, whereas your Adwords traffic was a temporary thing. And prospects generated from articles are way more responsive!

You'll often people willing to spend crazy amounts for cost per click on Adwords, but you won't find that many 'insane' competitors in article marketing. Although the competition has grown massively in recent years, it is still nothing compared to pay-per-click marketing.

And that's why I say article marketing trumps over Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or any other pay-per-click network. If you don't want to write, outsource your articles. You'll see some terrific results from this marketing strategy if you do it right.

How to Educate Yourself In Internet Marketing

To make a living at internet marketing, you need to master several skills. You need to know something about how to build websites, so you can have a platform for your business. You need to know how to write copy so you can create content that attracts both human readers and Google spiders, and so you can sell your visitors on doing whatever you need them to do once they get to your site. Finally you need to know enough about how the internet actually works so you can get traffic to your site.

If you can master these three skills, you can create sites that make money. If you can create enough of these, you can create a full-time income.

The question is: what does it take to master these skills? Let's take a look at them one at a time.

How to Build Websites

For non-techies, this might be the scariest of the three! Don't worry, though. Websites are build in a language called HTML, and formatted in another language called CSS. Both are relatively easy to learn, and there are some very good resources on the web to help. There are also lots of great books at the bookstore.

I noticed recently that a college near me offers classes on both HTML and CSS. I bet there are similar resources near you.

HTML and CSS are not real programming! They are really not programming languages at all, but formatting languages. Besides, there are complete programs like Dreamweaver and FrontPage that can do all of this stuff for you. There's even a free HTML editor you can get on the Internet-Nvu.com.

Worst case you can hire someone to build your site for you at eLance or Rent-A-Coder.

How to Write to Sell

Business writing is loosely called copywriting. What I mean by copywriting, though, is more like advertising writing. You do not need to write like Hemingway or Charles Dickens. You do need to know how to write grammatical English. Writing for the Web is very informal. It's a lot more like conversation. The main thing I tell people here, is to forget what you learned in school and practice writing like you talk to an intelligent friend.

If you need to, there are usually a lot of resources out there that cater to folks who want to improve their writing. Taking a business writing course might not be a bad idea. If you don't write for a living, who remembers what a run-on sentence is?

There are also plenty of books where you can brush up your writing skills.

The main thing to do is not to let your shortcomings stop you. We all have weak points. Yet, if you want something bad enough, you can figure how to get around those weaknesses.

How the Internet Works

Knowing how the Internet really works may be the most easily solved of your three skills. I can almost tell you all you need to know in a few short sentences.

People use the Internet for two reasons, entertainment and information. What you as the internet marketer need to know is how to make your website appear in a user's search results so it gets visited. Article marketing (what I'm doing right now!) is one good way to do this. Pay per click marketing is another. Finally, search engine optimization is yet another.

How to Streamline Your Article Marketing Process

I write a lot of articles - so I have developed a system that works really well for me, and allows me to write and submit as many as 20 articles on some days (I average about 7.5 articles per day, but that is usually days of 20-30 and days of zero, but the average for the month is currently about 7.5 articles per working day).

Here's how I do it:

1) I determine how many articles I am going to write today. For example, if it is 10, then I write a list (in a word processor) of ten topics. Then I transform each of the topics into a title. Generally, I do both of those steps at the same time - I just write the topic as a title. That takes about 5 minutes. (By the way, I have a list of about 100 keywords that I have previously researched, plus I have about 25 different categories in ezinearticles that I write articles for, so if I hit a roadblock on topics, I just consult one of those lists; I do not like to spend time on this step).

2) Then I just start writing - one sitting - all ten articles. This is my process for writing each article:

a) I write an introductory sentence that tells the reader something basic about my topic. Then I write a sentence or two either outlining the problem that exists for which I am writing the article to solve, or I will write a sentence explaining why it is so important that I am writing about this topic.

b) I write a series of steps to solve the problem, very similar to this list. Sometimes I use 1,2,3 or a,b,c, and sometimes I use a paragraph for each step.

c) I summarize the steps, or the reason for doing the steps.

d) I consider this step to be one of the most important. I indicate that one of the things that really helps me with this problem is one of the things that I am going to write about in one of the downloads I offer at the end of the article. This provides a transition to my call to action in my bio.

3) I submit one article to the list of directories, then the next article. With the short list of directories, you should get to where it takes no longer than 60 seconds to upload each article.

So What's Wrong With A Little Shameless Self-Promotion?

I was sitting at my laptop the other day just minding my own business, not bothering a living soul. I promise. I wasn't bothering anyone.

Well, as history would have it, my step-daughter walked in the door carrying a package addressed to me. I was astonished when she announced who it was from. Really astonished.

"EzineArticles," she said, handing me the package.

"You're kidding?" I turned. "EzineArticles? What are they sending me?"

I was surprised, you see, because, as we all know, EzineArticles is an Internet business. I get e-mails from them all the time. Why would I be getting a snail mail package from an online business, and an article directory, no less?

Well, I raced to open the package. I was curious. I was so curious, in fact, that all my other mail just fell to a stack of unopened envelopes of various sizes. But that package, the one from EzineArticles, attracted my attention the most. It couldn't wait.

I ripped, I tore, I swore, I sunk my teeth into the tape and incised the heck out of that package until it finally snapped and bore its contents right before my very eyes. Oh, and what a sweet surprise!

I gazed in awe at a brand new coffee mug, complete with the EzineArticles logo and web address on it. Magnificent! How did Chris Knight know I like coffee? I thought.

Well, it was the best Thanksgiving gift I've ever received. The letter accompanying it said so:

"Thanks for being an EzineArticles.com Platinum-level author! You're receiving this small token of our appreciation for sending in your best articles."

My goodness. It was signed by none other than Christopher Knight himself. What an honor!

Now, I was aware that Chris and EzineArticles.com was taking advantage of my addiction to coffee for the purpose of shamelessly promoting their article directory in the privacy of my home. But I didn't care! I love coffee. I drink it every day.

I've never given Chris any money. I've never spent one dime at EzineArticles.com. It's a totally free article directory and I use it for all it's worth. Sure, I have about 30 articles listed there, but is that anything to speak of? Is that any reason to appreciate me, little old me? I mean, I'm just some guy who uses them to shamelessly promote my business. I do it about once a week. Should I stop? I wondered.

Well, I've slept on it and I've decided I won't stop. I like coffee too much and I'm hoping next year Chris will send me another mug so I can give it to my wife. After all, she likes coffee too. And there's really nothing wrong with a little shameless self-promotion every now and then. Thank you, Chris! And may the universe bless you and your sweet little mug this year with lots of articles on coffee addiction.

Article Marketing Online - The Goldmine That Helps You Write Articles The Easy Way

John Huston, the director of such classic movies as The Maltese Falcon and The Treasure of Sierra Madre, once told the story that when a woman invited his good friend Ernest Hemingway out to the dance floor, Hemingway responded, "Criminy! I hate dancing in public so much I'd rather write!"

Many of us have been there done that. True, for article marketing online you do not have to write the Great American Novel but that doesn't stop people from hating it just the same. Some complain about doing the research, others don't like the brainstorming. While most of us can relate, the simple truth is many writers just cannot bare the thought of looking at a blank page and having to fill it. This is tough if you plan on making article marketing part of your online business plan; since you will have to repeat this process over and over again.

What's the solution? Articles which have already been written that reside in the public domain. An excellent definition of public domain is provided by the Online Library Learning Center: "Works which are not owned by someone, and therefore not protected by copyright." This occurs when the writer has voluntarily given up the rights to their own material, the copyright has expired or the work was published before the existence of any copyright laws.

Everything is basically laid out for you. It just comes down to finding the material that is right for your subject matter. Once this is completed you simply rewrite the article into your own words. Because the time to research your article has been drastically reduced and you don't have to start with a blank page, this may be the fastest and easiest way to churn out articles on a steady basis.

It's also very cost effective. Many new or successful online businesses would just resolve themselves to outsourcing the chore of article writing. Even if the funds are available, it is still going to get expensive. Why? Because you are going to need a lot of fresh unique content on your website to make an impact with search engines (the same engines that will bring you the bulk of your internet traffic). Rewriting public domain articles, optimized with the proper keywords, is an excellent way to grow your website. You can then use the money you would have spent on outsourcing to invest in some other area of your business.

Use public domain articles in your email newsletter or put several articles together and create an ebook that you distribute freely. Just make sure to brand your name and put a link in the book pointing back toward your website. The key to all of this is to rewrite the material thoroughly. Public domain articles may not have a copyright but it also means the public at large is familiar with the information. Copying almost word for word is quite amateurish and extremely lazy. Use a public domain article as a framework to incorporate your own original ideas.

Article marketing requires a steady flow of creativity. Public domain articles are an incredible resource which can provide the solution to your web content needs. Tap into this overlooked goldmine starting today and give your article writing a major boost.

Four Rules of Article Marketing

An ambitious website owner/operator must use article marketing techniques that will work for them and earn them the many benefits that article marketing can bring to their website. Articles are very often the main factor in driving traffic to a website. Good article marketing can also determine your site's rankings in search engine result pages. And remember, the higher a site ranks the bigger slice of the traffic pie it will get, This not only generates more profit but also creates potential for other income generating schemes as well. But, it is not enough to just cram as many articles as possible into your web pages. In order for your article marketing campaigns to be successful, there are certain standards that you need to maintain.

Because of the importance of article marketing as a search engine optimization tool, there seems to be a huge influx of private label articles being distributed around the web which you may download and use in your campaigns.. Don't do that! Always try to be creative and write your own unique articles, or at least just use the PLR freebies as a guide. Search engines robots are capable of seeing that your PLR articles are not unique and will attach less importance to them. If you are to gain the maximum benefit from your article marketing campaigns, keep your articles unique and well presented. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of potential customers and keep them coming back to your website for more. Also, they will be more inclined to recommend your website to others.

So lets look at a four basic ideas to keep in mind when writing your articles. If you apply these simple tips to your writing agenda, your article marketing campaign will produce a higher level of success.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

An article should always be written around certain keywords and keyword phrases which will often be the keywords pertaining to the webpage you intend to promote. It is advisable to center an article around just one keyword. There will be many keywords and keyword phrases that you can use and why not write an article for every one? There are a variety of keyword tools around the Internet which will help a webmaster to determine which keywords and keyword phrases are most likely to be used by searchers typically looking for his/her website. So before you begin your article marketing campaign, spend time in choosing the keyword and keyword phrases you will write your articles around.

Keyword Density

The term 'keyword density' relates to the number of times each keyword or keyword phrase is used in an article. It is shown as a percentage of the total number of words in a text. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to feel it's presence, but keep in mind that the recommended keyword density for article marketing optimization is from 3% to 7%, anything above this, say 10% density will appear very much like keyword stuffing and your article may well be penalized by search engines. At any rate, an article with 10% keyword density will hardly make any sense, if read by a human. On the other hand, if the keyword density is too low your article may be ignored by search engines, and your article marketing campaign will have little little effect. Ideally if your article is say 700 words in length, you should try to use your keyword approximately 35 times throughout. But remember, keyword density in the title, the headings, and the first paragraphs will carry more weight. This is good article marketing practice.

Good Article Content

Taking into account keyword density, you would be ill-advised to just litter your articles with keywords and not consider that they should also make for good reading. The success or failure of your article marketing campaigns will depend heavily on how much your article content entertains the reader. Articles should be well written with correct spelling and good grammar. Most of all they should make sense and be interesting. Most readers respond well to facts, figures and statistics. Always try to include good information and as many facts as you are able. A good, well written article is also likely to boost your reputation as being reasonably expert in your chosen field or topic. Some of them will read other articles you have had published, and as more people believe in you, they will be able to trust in you and your products.

Linking Articles

Another important thing to remember is to include a link to your website in the resource box immediately after your article. Whether you submit your articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other article marketing sites, a small resource box with a brief description of your website should always be placed right after the articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they are more likely to click on the link directing them to your website. If a resource box is present on your article submission form, you may often be allowed to include two or even three links to your site. Always check this out as it would be a shame if your article is rejected by the directory/ezine owner because you abused the resource box.

So these four important rules of article marketing if implemented will ensure that your articles are well ranked and give your article marketing campaigns the best chance of being successful. Remember that your article marketing campaign success is totally dependant on the quality and content of the articles you have published.

Profitable Article Marketing - Latest 4 Amazing New Steps to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most powerful forms of website promotion especially if you are on a tight budget. If you are decided to use this technique to make your website more popular, establish yourself as an expert on you chosen niche, increase your sales potential, pull up your search engine ranking, and augment your profits, these 4 amazing new steps can help you jumpstart your marketing efforts:

1. Avoid blatant advertisements. This is the common mistake of new marketers. They provide little information about their topics and they talk so much about the features and benefits of their products. This will not in any way help you boost your sales potentials. Why? Publishers do not want to publish articles that sound more like a sales letter because people find them annoying. Besides, your articles must be able to educate and impart knowledge to your potential clients so they will be read and republished by other online users.

2. Do not include links on your articles. If you want to increase your chances of publication, you must make sure that your articles are free from hyperlinks. Publishers will only allow you to insert URL or anchor texts on your resource box.

3. Avoid spelling and grammar errors. If you would like to create a good impression online, you must care to provide articles that are error-free. This will strengthen your credibility and your professionalism.

4. Avoid too much hype on your resource box. While you are allowed to insert URLs on this part, you must not make it sound like an advert. It should only contain your name, your expertise, and your URL. Keep it short, compelling, catchy, and intriguing so you can effectively drive readers to your website.

Making More of your Article Marketing Strategy

Its all well and good to write a great article. If youve done that then you are half way there. The next step is getting it published. Having your articles published on line in different places can build your credibility and increase the number of links pointing to your site all great things. But they can actually do a lot more than that.

You can use them to legitimately help sell your products and services by creating a high quality Resource Box.

A Resource Box is the short biography you get to put at the end of your article also known as your SIG (signature). To make your resource box really work for you, youll want to include the following items.

Resource Box Essentials

 Your name: I know it sounds simple but it has been known to be forgotten! This goes first.

 Your Title or Job: If its important, let people know what you do

 Your website address: Lots of people click through to the URL you put in your resource box, especially if theyve liked what they read and what to learn some more about you. You need to include the whole address (http://www.yourcompany.com.etc) to make it work.

 Your sound-bite: You will usually have two to three lines to explain what you do. This is best used to describe what makes you unique why someone would buy from you instead of anyone else in your field.

 Ask them to do something: Always include a call to action. The research is clear that you get the best results when you ask people to take a specific action. In my own resource box, I ask people to click through and sign up for my newsletter.

Some article publishers give you more space than others, so if youve got extra room, you might also like to include some bonus information to help them take the action you want. For example, mentioning that if they sign up for your newsletter they will receive a free report (or similar) often gets great results.

What Not to Do

Dont list more than one url. People get turned off when they see a long list of sites, even more so when they are clearly not related to the content of the article. Keep it short and related to maximise your credibility.

Dont go overboard on your business and what you do. By the time people have read to the end of the article, they are only going to be scanning for the high points. They are not likely to read a dissertation on your accomplishments!

A hard sell. Consumers are savvy these days, and most do not appreciate having things shoved down their throats. If you insist they try your fantastic new product or service because their lives wont be the same unless they do, they are more likely to click away from your article immediately. Youll get an even worse reaction if you try and sell something that doesnt even relate to the article. Keep it subtle. Either entice them to your website, or get them to sign up for your newsletter first. Once they go there, youll have more opportunity to make your case.

Dont make wild promises you cant substantiate. This goes without saying, but I have seen resource boxes claiming to provide the fastest or best, or most successful products/services. This kind of hyped up language doesnt come across well, particularly in a short piece like a resource box. Save it (and substantiate it!) on your website if its true that is.

How Article Marketing Can Get You More Visitors To Your Website

Article marketing is one of the best ways to get more visitors for your website. In case you're not familiar with the term, article marketing is a technique where you write articles about topics related to your website and then submit them to one or more websites called article directories.

As you know, having fresh content on your website and blog is key when it comes to getting search engine traffic. Many website owners and bloggers visit article reprint directories on a daily basis, in search of articles to use on their sites.

When you submit your articles to the various directories, you give permission for other webmasters to use them on their websites or blogs, with the condition that they include an "about the author" section that you include at the end of your article.

This section lets you include more information about your website, as well as links back to it where people can get more information.

When someone posts your article on their site, they also post this about the author section and everyone who reads the article on their website sees it. Your article can ultimately end up on hundreds of websites, with thousands of visitors reading it and clicking the links through to your own site.

It is very easy to find these reprint directories on the web. Just do a Google search on 'free reprint article directories' and many listings will pop up. Some are highly targeted and feature only articles health articles; or only articles about food; and other directories are more general. You can submit your article to more than one directory, and there are even some software packages that will submit the articles for you.

Coming up with ideas for article topics is really not hard. Just take the topic of your website and think of a question your visitors would have, then write an article answering it. For example, if you have a gardening website, you could write about how to care for your indoor plants or when to start planting seeds.

And if you don't really enjoy writing, it's not a problem. You can hire writers to ghostwrite your articles at various places on the internet. How much you'll pay will depend on different factors, but usually you'll wind up paying between $8 and $20 per 500 word article.

Are you using article submission to increase web site traffic? Sign up for the internet's first viral article network, where you'll make money on your article submissions PLUS you'll get hundreds of links back to your website. Visit http://articlesgoneviral.com to find out more.

Article Marketing - Getting Started In Article Writing

Article marketing has long been touted as an effective strategy for marketing an online business. However, writing many articles and submitting them is easier said than done. One needs to follow a formula so that he will consistently churn out quality articles.

Firstly, you need to have a goal in your article marketing efforts. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to get direct sales? Are you trying to get leads for your business? Or perhaps you just want to create brand awareness? It is important to state your goals before getting started. This 'streamlines' your article marketing efforts and you won't get distracted by other less important tasks. Having a goal helps you keep focused.

Next, you need to have a schedule for writing your articles. Sure, you can write 10 articles and take the rest of the week off. But it is better to write 2 or 3 articles a day, so you are practicing your craft on a daily basis. This has a knock-on effect on the quality of your articles. Submitting articles consistently also produces great results for your business in the long haul. If you write just 3 articles a day, that comes to about 90 articles a month and 180 after 3 months.

Article directories are free to use, so this is one of the best cost-effective ways to market online. Its a good idea to spend some time reading other articles written by authors in your niche, to get a feel for it and tune your mind to write quality articles.

Lethal Traps of Poor Article Marketing

As you write articles to use for marketing purposes, you will be able to write quicker and with greater efficiency over time. With that speed and efficiency comes toxic traps that you must be aware of.

These are the pitfalls of poor article marketing:

  • Not being consistent. Article writing and marketing is fun in the beginning. But when the new wears off and writing articles on a regular basis becomes hum-drum, you may start to slack off on writing and submitting. Don't fall into this trap!
TIP: Set a doable goal to write and submit a specific amount of articles each week.

  • Poorly written content. It's easy to get in such a rush to write articles that you stop concentrating on the quality of your articles. Don't fall into this trap!
TIP: Remember that real people with real questions and concerns will be reading your articles.

  • Ignoring basic writing "rules." We all hate rules, but they're simply a fact of life. It behooves every writer to remember the basic rules of writing (proper grammar, perfect spelling, etc.) and apply them to each article.
TIP: When your eyes get tired, hire a professional proofreader/editor to go through your articles with a fine-toothed comb.

  • Writing in inconsistent tones. Every writer has a unique voice. If you are writing with different markets in mind, you might find yourself trying to write in different tones. Be careful that you don't dilute the message of the article by writing in these different voices.
TIP: Stay true to your writing voice and write like you talk.

  • Giving little or no valuable information inside the article. Every time you sit down to write an article, ask yourself, "What is the meat of this article?" Then write your article based on that answer.
TIP: Every article should have at least one complete, or main, idea.

  • No call to action in the resource box. If you are writing articles for the purpose of marketing, then you are wasting your time if you don't compel your readers to do something at the end of the article. Give them a reason to click on your link.
TIP: Take the reader by the hand and lead them; tell them exactly what to do.

By the way, you can make money by writing articles just like this. I'm doing it right now by following these methods: http://www.cashfromarticles.hopewrites.com/
