A: You know what? That is a really good question. As I think about it, you are really asking two questions -

1. How do I get motivated to write articles everyday?

and

2. How do I stay motivated to write articles everyday?

Fortunately the answers to either question apply to both questions.

How to get and stay motivated to write articles everyday

I have several tips for you which I will share in bullet point form -

  • You need to write regularly to get and stay motivated. Writing regularly keeps you in the flow of article writing and makes article writing much easier.
  • When you are writing regularly, you see article ideas everywhere.
  • Keep a pad and pen with you or a voice recorder to capture your article ideas as they come. One of the most de-motivating things that can happen is to have a great idea, not capture it, and then not remember the idea when you sit down to write about it.
  • Keep in mind at all times the results of regular article writing and marketing. You may even want to write the results down somewhere that you can see everyday. In addition to the pure pleasure of writing, the results are the most motivating factor for me. I don't hope - I don't think - I know that the more articles I write, the more traffic, prospects, subscribers, customers, fun and profits I am going to have.

Keep all of these tips, especially the results, in mind to get and keep you motivated to write your articles.

To be successful on the Internet, you need to develop a growing stream of traffic, generate income, and build your list. If you can accomplish these three goals, you will be successful online. Writing articles is an excellent way to achieve all three of these goals. That is, if you do it properly. Of course all of your articles should be about engaging subjects and have great titles to attract maximum readers. Assuming that your article satisfies these two objectives, how do you generate traffic, increase income and build your list? You accomplish these things with a great resource box.

The resource box is your compensation for writing the article. This is the section, usually below your article where you post your advertising. Many people tell about how great they are or their accomplishments in the resource box. Unless you are running for public office, this is probably a mistake.

Most article directories allow you to place three links in your resource box. You should take full advantage of this and include the maximum number of links that they allow. After all, this is the only compensation that you will receive for writing the article. You may as well get the most bang for your buck.

If the article directory allows it, use anchor links in the resource box, the search engines favor this type of link. If the directory does allow html, use plain text links using the full web address. Make sure to begin with http.

In each resource box, include a link to your opt in page. This will build the size of your list. And in this business, those with the largest lists have the highest incomes. Always include a link to your opt in page!

In addition, always include 2 additional links. Ideally, these should direct visitors to two of your own products, or a page on your site where you stand to make some money. If you do not have your own product, use affiliate products. Unfortunately, some article directories will not allow links directly to affiliate products. Read the directory's terms of service to determine if it is allowed.

By including a resource box with the maximum number of links allowed, you can generate traffic, increase income, and build your list.

More and more people are turning to the Internet to find local resources. At the top of the list is the search for real estate and agents.

The experts predict the next wave of the Internet will be local marketing. Currently the real estate industry is leading the way with estimated online marketing expenditures exceeding $1 billions for 2005. That amount is expected to grow substantially over the next few years.

There are those realtors who have figured out how to successfully market online, and are reaping the rewards. What are those rewards? A source of new customers at a much lower cost per acquisition.

As a realtor here are some facts that you simply cant ignore:

More then half (56 percent) of all consumers now use the Internet when buying real estate, which is up from 28 percent in 2000. When asked where they first learned about the home they purchased, 24% of buyers identified the Internet. That is an increase from 15% in 2004.

Buyers who initially do their research online tend to be better informed. Equipped with their knowledge gathered from the Internet, they spend significantly less time with their realtor, and preview fewer houses then traditional buyers. In other words, you get an ideal buyer that requires less of your time and resources in making a purchase.

What is required to profit on the Internet?

In addition to having a functional and effective web site, realtors need to aggressively market their business on the Internet. You must have a presence where your customers are searching.

One of the most effective methods for marketing online is Pay Per Click advertising. The two major players of PPC are Google and Yahoo. It works as follows:

1. A person searches on a keyword or phrase like, Evanston Illinois Real Estate.

2. As an advertiser you bid for ad positioning on that term (1st, 2nd, 3rd position, etc). Obviously you bid on terms that are relevant to your business and would be used by potential real estate buyers in your area. There is no limit to the number of keywords or phrases that you can bid on.

3. When the search results appear your ad is displayed at the top or right hand side of the page. These ads are often referred to as "Sponsored" links. If a person clicks on your ad and goes to your site, you pay a price per click that you designated. The appeal of PPC is that you control your costs by specifying a cost per click and a daily expenditure. In addition, you are only paying for performance. You only pay when there is a click to your site.

What makes PPC so appealing is the fact that it is so targeted. If you select the right terms to bid on, you end up with prospects coming to your site that are actively pursuing your services. That is the primarily reason it is much more cost-effective than offline advertising.

I recently set up a PPC campaign for a realtor in my area. It took a couple of hours. The Google ads went live immediately, and the Yahoo ads started two days later. In about a week I got a call from the Realtor. She said, "I dont know what you did, but we are suddenly swamped with leads." It is that simple if done right.
