Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

Writing dozens, hundreds or even thousands of articles and making them available for distribution is one of the best ways to ensure that your website gets surges in traffic over the long-haul. Why? Let me explain:

When you put your articles into distribution (meaning you submit them to ezine publishers and the article sites that ezine publishers visit for fresh content), you increase your chances of your article getting picked up as supplemental content by ezine publishers. They take your article and send it to their email newsletter membership or add it to their website.

Why would you give them your article for free? Heck, you're a paid expert, right?

The answer is because good ezine publishers will leave your article in tact and provide you with an active link back to your website. When they send your article to their list, you can expect an immediate surge in traffic. Most of the time, you won't know who sent your article to their list, but you will see spikes throughout the year if your articles are quality.

There is another technical reason that you may get surges in web traffic from your articles: Every time your article is reprinted on a website with an active link to your website, your articles help you increase link popularity which may elevate your rank with the major search engines. More rank means more natural traffic to your site.

Having worked with thousands of article authors and tens of thousands of articles, I can tell you that there are clearly two types of ezine articles:

Ezine Articles Type I Designed for mass distribution:

How can you setup your article to be picked up by the largest number of potential ezine publishers? Easy: Write 250-500 word articles that are easy to read, bullet points and lists, and only 1 or 2 links in the resource box below the article (and never more than 2). You also don't want to pitch affiliate programs with your links as ezine publishers frown on this and won't pick up your article. Lastly, don't lace your article with heavy HTML code or HTML tables or anything complex. Lowest common denominator (plain text) rules.

Bottom line: The easier you make it for ezine publishers to use your article, the higher your distribution rate. Your goal is increased distribution and exposure.

Ezine Articles Type II Designed for value only from originating site.

How can you limit distribution and only get value from the article directories that you submit your articles to? Easy: Include anchor text links instead of full http:// URL's and bloat it up with HTML garbage and cute HTML code that adds value to the article but would make any ezine publisher cringe because they can't work your heavy article into their ezine template.

As you can guess, I favor "Ezine Articles Type I" authors as they really "get it." Type II article authors are missing out on the viral nature of article distribution.

Tip: If you're going to be a "Type II" article author, at least include one http:// URL in your resource box instead of only anchored text links. This way your article will still generate an active link for ezine publishers who might use your article to their text-based email newsletter audience.

Crank Up The Traffic:

Don't be a 1-trick article author and only post 1 article to 1 site and then call it a day. If you want to crank up the traffic, you've got to crank up the quantity of quality articles you put into distribution. Only the rare article author hits the jackpot with tens or hundreds of thousands of views to their article while the greater majority needs tens, hundreds or even thousands of articles to do the same traffic.

Set a goal to write 4 articles at a time, 250-500 words each and submit them to ezine publishers from your core niche along with submitting them to websites that archive fresh ezine articles daily. It is possible to crank out 100-500 new articles per year for most authors in their spare time. Those who say it's impossible are usually passed up by those of us who know it's possible.

There is no doubt that there is an article writing labor investment here, but the payoffs are in surges in traffic to your website this year many years to come without having to buy the traffic. Consider it an investment in building your websites's foundational traffic-future. :-)

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

Who would have ever thought the key to your success could be in choosing the right words. What the heck is that all about anyway. Well it seems, you have to use carefully selected words called, "keywords" to optimize your website so the big daddy search engine to pay attention to you. Just any old words don't work. You have to use relevant words and or parts of phrases that relate to your site's content.

Well I can see that! What the heck I believe anyone with a little brains could figure that out. I mean, I wouldn't use the word "carburetor" if I was selling candy, now would I? Seems like there is a lot of hallo blew over the obvious. I've seen keyword search programs, articles, and ebooks all about picking the right keyword. I think some people need to get a life.

So if it's such a big deal, what kind of keywords should you use? Duh, how about ones that focuses on what your site is all about? I mean, can't you just see someone putting up a big billboard on the side of the Interstate. Huge letters saying "STAY IN SAN DIEGO" when they are selling Omaha Stakes. Maybe people would respond to the San Diego thing, but they would probably be disappointed when it was Omaha Stakes instead. I mean there's nothing wrong with San Diego, but I think fresh Omaha Stakes are imported there from - Omaha.

Hum, maybe a little reverse physiology is in order. If San Diego is more apt to get their attention then it's a matter of wording. Like "There's nothing like a fresh Omaha Steak on a Barbe in San Diego."

Another thing, what the heck is all that "search engine ranking" about? It's not hard enough to get prospects to visit your website, you have to satisfy the search engines also. That's right, forget about the prospect, make that search engine is happy. Who thought that one up? Someone who is getting very rich, that's who. So who is the most important, the prospect or the search engine? You can have the best product in the world but if the search engine doesn't like your wording, forget it. How the heck did we get into this situation in the first place? Now we play by Google's rules or we don't play at all. True there are a few other search engines, but let's face it, Google is bordering on a monopoly.

By Google's rules, one correctly placed keyword produces better overall search engine rankings than if keywords are just generally placed. They also say both targeted and general keyword types will help the site maintain a high ranking. Isn't that special. You not only have to have the right keywords, but you have to have them in the right places. Cripe, I just want to sell my goods, that's all. I'm no Yale grad. or anything like that. I have a good product and I need customers, without the big boys wanting to muscle in. They used to call it the Mafia, oh I'm sorry, there wasn't any Mafia either.

The freedom of the web, yeah right as long as you play by their rules. And get this, the use of the right keyword placed strategically across your website is a big factor in determining whether or not you rank high in a search like, oh yeah, Google, Yahoo or Microsoft. So buckle down and get with the program.

So, what keywords are most useful?

Set down and put the old brain to work. Figure out which keywords are the most common in relation to your site's content and theme. The Big Daddy Search Engine Optimization tug-a-war begins with the first word but does not end with any set number of keywords. But that's not enough, the correct density has to be used, like around ten to fifteen percent but you could probably get by with up to twenty five percent. So use words that are relevant to your website, but don't use too many, no - no you'll get a slap on the hand.

So Just How Do You Choose the Best Keywords

Well here we go, what is your website all about? Put your brain to work, and write down the most popular words pertaining to your website that comes to mind. Make sure they are words regular people would use in searching for what you have to sell. No tricky, geeky stuff here. Just remember there are targeted and general keywords. You might know what you're selling but Joe Blow doesn't until you inform him. Make the words simple but direct. With all that said, write them both down and check them against your website. You can underline or put them in bold, but get them in there in the right density for effect. You can use one word from three to five percent with no sweat. Just don't go overboard, the search engines will think you're spamming if you get too dense.

In Conclusion:

Cater to the search engine's rules, pick out words that go with what you're selling. Do some brainstorming, and get on with the project. Oh yes, try a few search words yourself and see who turns up. Hay if they're good for your competitor, why not you?

Happy Trails.

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

1) Find a niche market

Use keyword tools like Overture or the one at DigitalPoint.com to find the exact number of searches for a niche keyword. Anything above 50,000 a month has profit potential.

Try not to go after the 'make money online' niche because you'll be competing against many established marketers. Instead going after niche markets where there aren't so many educated Internet marketers is a good choice. You can put your Internet marketing skills to work in these markets.

2) Create a free report

Create a free report about your niche. Make it a useful 10-50 page report with lots of useful information. Don't be afraid to give it away because you'll be making money in other ways.

3) Create an opt-in page

This is where you'll get subscribers to opt-in and give their emails to receive your free report. You'll need an autoresponder for this. A good one is Aweber.

4) Create a One-Time Offer

Here's where you make money. You need to create a special offer that can only be seen once after your subscriber opts-in. A good way to create a one-time offer is to use Resell Rights products.

5) Follow up

Offer relevant products to your subscribers by emailing them once a week or so. This is where you make more cash by providing useful products which tie in to your niche.

If there is one marketing tool that has been on the marketing scene for such a long time it is the article marketing. However, given this time element, only a few marketing people are able to master the craft of article marketing because of the insatiable evolution that it undertakes. It is for this reason that article marketing continues to be an effective and most sought after. Its being mystical yet dependable and reliable projects an air or credibility. However, no matter how mystical it may seem to be for other people, it continues to be strongly used and powerfully utilized. The techniques below can help you achieve excellence in article marketing:

1. Take advantage of the resource box. The resource box is where you can actually profess your reason for writing the article - to market and advertise. You can include on your resource box some important information or details regarding the company you are representing or probably anything about you as the writer - your name, your business, your contact details and so much more.

2. Take advantage of the squeeze page. The squeeze page can form part of the article material that you have. You can include a squeeze page so that you can potentially "squeeze" some vital information that you may need from your potential reader. You can use then use these pieces of acquired information to make marketing in the future.

3. You can submit your article materials into some of the well-known article publishing sites and allow for these to earn exposure and generate more and more potential readers.

Choosing an affiliate program that is profitable and easy to market is not always an easy task. When you decide to join an affiliate program, you are electing to promote a specific product or idea to consumers using the internet as your main marketing arena. Since there are many programs to consider, choosing the right one may require more research on your part.

What is a good affiliate program?

When researching affiliate programs, you should find out more about the following:

Percentage of income made on commissions
How long the company has had an affiliate program
Training or support the company offers to affiliates
Marketability
Popularity of affiliate program (if there are too many affiliates, your profits will decrease due to internet saturation)
Popularity and stability of the company

This information is extremely important as you will have to spend time learning more about the products sold, niche groups, building a web site, and creating email lists. Why should you waste your time on a product that has low commissions or is impossible to market to many different types of people?

Affiliate marketing basics

Choosing an affiliate program is similar to choosing an employer. If you don't understand what they are selling or you don't agree with their business practices, why would you want to increase their profits? Look for affiliates that are easy to market, which means they already have brand recognition.

While many people have made a considerable amount of money marketing new companies, depending on the time you have and how quickly you want to see a profit, stick with a company that is well known, but not employing too many affiliates.

Considering all the marketing you will have to do in order to make a profit, choosing a product that can be marketed to different groups of people will help you sell more. Niche markets, product based markets, and international markets are accessible online.

Finding affiliate programs

Selling products you care about and know something about will earn you the most profits. When looking for an affiliate program start with industries you are familiar with. Many companies have found that using affiliates is a great way to cut marketing costs and increase their online presence, which means there are many to choose from.

Once you have found a company whose affiliate program looks promising, read more about what is required of affiliates, the commissions, and browse their web site to see how easy it would be to market their products.

If you want to explore new industries or follow current consumer trends by marketing a company that is popular right now, you should conduct the same research. Just because a brand is popular now does not mean it will be in a year or even six months from now. The key to successful affiliate marketing is to make as much money as possible over the longest amount of time.

Once you have found a program, sign up and begin your marketing campaign. Be diligent, be aggressive in finding new markets, and promote the company's product to the best of your ability. Those who are successful in affiliate marketing are those who research before joining a program, have a sound marketing plan in mind, and who track each market to see how profitable it is.

Just what are the Benefits of Submitting Articles to E-Zines

E-zine advertising is perhaps one of the most underused forms of promotion. It is a good idea to do your homework, before launching your viral marketing campaign. Article writing and publishing has become the latest buzz in the internet website marketing world. The name of the game as far as Internet marketing

Most of us write articles to generate clicks from the links that we place in the resource box. The main purpose of this is to either increase traffic to our websites or to interest readers in a product that we are promoting. But how do we realize these goals?

In order to succeed, there are 3 main tasks you must accomplish:

1) Youve got to attract readers. The only real method to attract viewers is with a compelling title. When people are looking for information on a particular subject, they scan through a list of titles. This list may contain several hundred articles. Your title has to grab them and compel them to read your piece. Your title has to jump out at them and draw them in. If youve written a great article full of fascinating information, no one will read it if it has an uninteresting title. All of your work will have been fruitless. Youve got to grab their attention with an intriguing title.

2) Youve got to have a good article. If your article is not well written, or if it contains little information of value, your readers will quickly click away, and again, your work will have been fruitless. For that reason, it is important to write a great article with good information, and a compelling title.

3) The third ingredient for a successful article is a good resource box. Ideally, the information in your article should be related to the links in your resource box. This is extremely important. If your article is about ice fishing in Alaska and your links refer to vacationing in the tropics, you probably wont generate many clicks. Thats because the people who read the article are interested in ice fishing, not sun bathing. However, if your resource box contained links for a travel agency specializing in Alaskan tours, you would probably generate a lot of clicks. Coordinate the information in your resource box with the content of your article. I use a number of different resource boxes, depending on what I am writing about.

If youve done a good job in each of these three areas, your article will achieve very good readership and your links will generate plenty of traffic. If your article is generating good readership, but you are not getting many clicks, it may mean that you need to work on steps 2 or 3 above.

With some of my best articles, over 17% of the readers have clicked on my links. That is a great percentage! On average though, only about 7%-8% of readers will click on a link.
